Hello all I have at present have a 106gti which i'm going to get rid of and on saturday i'm hoping to take out a 172 cup. Can you inform me of things I need to look at and am I making a good decision in buying one cheers

I drive a GTi and I wouldn't exactly say I get left for dead by cups, I raced one at pod a few months back and got beaten by a few hundreds of a second (didn't help me not paying attention to the lights). I'm going to pod on sunday so if anyone fancies a race i'll be there :)

Well said mate, obviously 106's are never going to go down well on a clio site, i'm gutted about having to sell my GTI as idiots keep breaking into it, they are great fun cars to drive like 172's,182's, 16v's etc etc

cheers mate for the welcome, yeah it looks like the Mk2 may be the way to go, just been looking at danny's Mk2 for sale looks really nice. Always wanted one for a while now, the final straw was waking up bank holiday monday with the 106's window put through and the immobiliser wire cut - wan**rs.

My 106 can keep up, its only got an exhaust and ram air, its about the same speed as my mates willy 2 :)

Saw it drive by me yesterday, sitting outside a pub. My g/f told me off cause I spend more time looking at cars than her woops;) Then saw a nice blue MK2 172 at the swanley junction M25, I was in my dads 1.4 rt as mine is being fixed

I know mate, I went to look at one the other day, since the 172 came out i wanted one of them, now the 182 is out I really really want one. My mates say why dont you buy a CTR but I prefer the clio looks and equipment.
