mine showed the temp gauge as over normal back in December, also had the fan kicking in all the time and in the end continuous running, to the point it'd flatten the battery.
Got it put on diagnostics and it came up as the temperature sensor was faulty, replaced that and it's been fine since. So...
ah kwl, well went to try again, but need another socket, had 16 and 18 but no 17mm! also found the shock was leaking aswell whilst under there, and the antiroll bar link is holding on for dear life through all the rust, so two weeks time i have nothing on, so will try and replace all of it and...
got all the stuff to replace the ball joint this morning, tools and parts, but the hayne's guide says the anti-roll bar needs removing, which is a probs because it's seized up. But does anyone know if the bar needs removing as it's not actually attached, could have another go tomorrow we if's ok...
attempt failed, got the parts, socket set, also the torque wrench and lifting kit, so could get it done right, but then when doing it, seems everythings been over tightened and gone rusty, couldn't even get the first nut off after the wheels :-(
So seems i'll still need to go and get it done at...
got a message back saying he really doesn't know if it'll fit a clio, all instructions are for the Scenic, Still half tempted. seems the certificates are present, but it looks like it has to be professionally installed for this to be valid to the insurance, which is a pain!
Anyone know how much...
ah kwl, well he says to search for the part number to find what it'll fit, but i've not been successful in finding anything from that number, i've sent him an email asking for a model number anyways, and if the certificate for insurance is in there, if so i might just go for it
I've been wondering about an alarm too, but on a standard 1.5, moving into a rougher area next year, so want to be careful (a couple weeks ago the next door neighbour got a brick through the car window! :-s)
What'd be good for it?
I found this online...
also from reading the comments above, they don't actually have a sim in them iirc, you get a number to send and recieve txts to and from, but it's using the internet messaging service, so u need to be connected to ethernet or wifi to send and receive, but also means that if you want to use the...
Win, maybe i'll get another... there great little machines, think if i get another i might try and mount it in the glove box with a HDD and run everything off it, makes a great bedside table media hub
ah kk, thats more tempting then.
Nah my dads always stood on the handle for putting wheels back on, it's quite worrying, luckily he know's virtually nothing about mechanics, so never done anything else, but it's not a gd habit. I realised this wasn't gd practise, to much can be crushed, also...
looks nice i'm guessing i'd also need some lifting equptment like http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_241361_langId_-1_categoryId_165727
Or would the renault jack on a sil be ok???
also how about a Torque Wrench, or is my dad...
Sounds gd, although i'm doing 700 miles between 28th to 31st, so might be better off getting it sorted before then, if i leave getting it done then defo though. Will keep it in mind for other work if thats ok too though
ah thanks, rang a few places for quotes at lunch, but everywhere want to see the car first, before quoting, so might go around on saturday and see whats open.
Looked at the mhautos and they seem to have gd reviews and really close to mine so might give them a call, blue peter garage seems good...
yep, wondering if i should pop in somewhere for a free health check thing whilst i'm at it try and be prepared for the mot next month.
Anyone got any views of ATS euromaster, just found i've got 10% off as i'm a student, are they competent or just a bunch of monkeys?
seems the location makes it...
ebay has them for between £5 and £15 a peice, so will ring around for some quotes and see what i can get for parts and fitting and just fitting wise, then either drop it in or order some and drop it in! hopefully it'll sort it nice and easily.
Will also be handy in getting ready for the next...
hehe i don't think its the shocks anymore, found the mot and looked at the advisary, lower ball joint seems to fit the problem well, and was a slight play back 10 months ago, guessing it's just got excessive play over the last 12k miles! now to get that replaced and it should be back to normal...
ah sorry,
thats basically what i did, washed, clayed, rinsed, polished with SRP and then put a layer of the turtle wax extreme , although i forgot and dried it between washing & claying too, then remembered i didn't need to
ah kwl, thanks, just wanted to make sure it was doing something whilst it was waxed, or if i needed to wait until the next time i needed to wax and then do it before.
At least there was some lovely beading on it this morning when i came out, just need to do the drivers side & bonnet, as could...
yea was thinking that could all be related, would also be why nothing looks or feels wrong when i'm bouncing it, now to find out the extortionate price on fixing a front suspension arm is
was claying the car last night until it started raining and getting dark, but does it matter about wax, because before doing it i had quite a few coats on, which i re did once i finished, but does it matter about it before, or does it still work through the wax?
Found my last MOT the advisary was "Offside front suspension arm has slight play in a ball joint" can anyone decrypt this, i should have asked at the time really. Would this be related to the drive stability and or shocks?
seems i've had the car longer than i thought too, i can do the next mot...
ah kwl, will have a think about it, not sure which ones have gone (or if any have, i might just be getting paranoid that something isn't right!) might see if my bf can tell over the weekend, unfortunately he's done loads on his old metro, but says he wont touch mine co its too modern!
If i try...
ah thanks, looks good, will have to see though, would have to be weekend as i can't see a easy way of getting between there and basing view/popley, it's a pain living somewhere you don't know anything or anyone
yea just asked in the meets section for ideas, i'm here on placement, so have no family here and virtually no friends :-( out of the 3 or 4, only 1 can drive and he's got a bike, will ask and see if they can ask family though. Some one at work has said they've got the number for a guy who if i...
yea, would love to do it my self but not got any experience or tools (except some screw arivers, a aj and a few other generic bits in a A4 box file in the boot)
What sort of tools would I need?
Not sure if this is the right place to be asking and stuff, but could do with finding a garage to check and probs replace my shocks and have no idea about garages in or around Basingstoke.
I remember there were people at the first meet i went to who either worked or lived here too, so is...
