I've had one and i could'nt get rid of it soon enough..
Tied a LOT of intake setups and this was the worse. The noise was incredible yep, i was ashamed to touch my throttle pedal every time when overtaking etc.
The V6/JMS setup worked just right in my case (mapped...
The filter Simota sells for the Clio RS is actually for a BMW 3 series... not that this should matter maybe, but it's def no filter dedicated to the RS
When going for cams it's a good mod to do.. i had mine done with cambelt change, cams, and clutch. We took out the engine completely as it eases things
I paid a LOT of $$ though, not sure if i would have done it if i knew in advance. The car is a screamer now though so i'm very happy
Kevin, i have looked in to this and a Whiteline rear Anti sway/roll bar seems a very good option/sollution ! Balance-motorsports do them over in the UK. I'm getting one too.
^^ your power seems allright, but your torque does'nt really add up to the equation . It's on the low side. Translating it to Newton meters it's 177 or so , but like you said the altitude and heat could be a prob.
My C&B cams have the same profile but it makes 200+NM torque and 174 hp...
get a 182 manifold , but only when you go all out.
leave it alone when not going for cams / itb's / or the like. i did it but it was a $$ of work. Pro is the MOT once a year , cat is (once adapted) very easy to replace.
(mine was cammed + inlet-work etc., worked nicely)
@ Medici; So this is why you pm'd me for my picture. You're welcome ... ?
it was a definate change for the better to throttle response, actually gained a little torque ; flattened my torque curve noticably where there used to be a small dip.
Was on the same RR .
Funny how people...
maybe alternator, check if it's getting red hot when driving/driven .
I could'nt see/play the vid on me Mac, so wild shot
(mine does a pitch noise, dissapears when warm. Alternator maybe after 75K+ i think on mine)
That really sucks Marten ...
I would def not give up and trie it through other channels, Someone at Valeo will not want their good name dragged through s**t on a big forum
When the Renault gearbox warrants a torque of 200NM , the clutch (Valeo is OEM i believe) must also be ? And you...
first trie reading out fault codes/diagnostics, lambda-fault should show up if that's the prob.
Will save you money when it turns out to NOT be the lambda
also check if all your mounts are "hanging free" , no metal contact. Think of the space the exhaust needs to expand/shrink , and adjsut all mounts to be able to cover this. It can cure a LOT of inside cabine resonance/ noise
it's more about "pulsing" , or so i have read and heard . This is why you should never smoothe out the work your doing. Have a look at the oem work, looks like they took a chivel to it. For a reason that is.
