Ok, got the car up on a 4-post ramp yesterday and the clunking noise seems to be coming from inside the gearbox. So either reverse gear is about to fall out, or the diff is fubar!
New box time me thinks. :( Anyone have 1?
Still no further on with this! Anyone any ideas, I'm gonna replace the dog bone mount on sat and see if that helps. Need to know what the problem is! HELP!
Loosen the Clamp on the back box, use a wooden mallet to beat the centre section up into the backbox pipe. Then redo clamp. I also uprated the mount as the renault 1 is s**t!
Had a real good look at the car last nite, and cant see anythin obvious. Mounts seem ok, but could it be a dog bone mount? Just notied this morning it makes a less noisey knock when coming off the power in 2nd 3rd and 4th? Anyone had this b4?
This sounds really bad. It only clunks once, then runs fine until you go forward then select reverse again, then another clunk. could this be a driveshaft problem?
Ok, just went to reverse my car there to park in work and there was a loudish clunk from around the engine bay somewhere. Only did it once, then reversed fine. Does it everytime I select reverse, 1 clunk then drives ok. Anyone any ideas what this could b?
Thanks,
Stuart
All 3m Polishes are great! My bro won't use anything else in his bodyshop as the 3m seems to give the best results for the money. Ultrafina is amazing!
Picked it up from the beater on wednesday! Panel looks 100%. Looking at the inside I can hardly see any ripples and the outside looks mint! He said it came out really easily! You should see the state of the Porsche he's pulling atm!
He said that if he fitted a new panel it'd never be right. I thought a new panel would be the easier option myself, but I've seen his previous work. My bro uses him alot! He's good, so I trust him!
Haven't got the bill yet, but the guy's a mate of my brother's. I took the car too him and asked him to put a panel on it. He said he'd rather pull it than cut and weld a new panel on. He seems to know his stuff, so I let him work away with it!
It's repaired and all! Only took the tiniest skim of isopon after he pulled it out! This guy knows his stuff! U couldn't tell from the outside that is's bin fixed! Jus need her painted now! :D Doesn't need a new quarter. Just there's very few proper panel beaters left now days!
After alot of thought the car is not in with the Panel beater to be pulled straight. I hate taking panels off a car when there aint much wrong with them. Insurance companies are too quick to replace panels when they could be easily fixed! Car will be up for sale when she's fixed!
My complete ICE system on Ebay. Have split it to ease sale!

Dad's Laguna blew a fuse and I couldn't find where it was, turned out to be below the ashtray. Dunno if the MK3's are the same, but might be worth a shot!
