disagree. it just reduces the risk of it using plastic primer. on big parts like bumpers/spoilers etc then yea id advise scan seal or plastic primer, but on small plastic parts like door mouldings/handles, imo, plastic primer just aint needed aslong as its prepped properly before the high...
