    Were the bearings and the carriers both in spec when they were first fitted? Could one side being even slightly slack have accelerated the wear you're seeing now? Unlucky with the off dude, thankful you were able to scrub a bit of speed off. Hopefully fixing the beam shoud sort the odd handling...

    Yep, can see where you're coming from. :) That said even with the steel nuts, Rsport suggest the studs are replaced each season as a precautionary measure to counter any stretch that may have weakened them.

    Would it be as much of an issue on 1.25 pitch? Totally agree on a coarser pitch. That said i've stuck with the steel Rsport nuts as they were all still pretty snug. Defo worth getting a cordless impact wrench for the 1.25 pitch. Such a ball ache winding them on/off by hand! :banghead:

    Not sure Si, they do look similar. Seems odd they don't offer the three sizes if it is AI Tech though. 68mm for the front hub if youre not using spacers and 86mm for the front for 'up to' a 25mm spacer and the rear hub if youre running 34mm length nuts. Imagine the 100mm would jut beyond the...

    But with reference to Morgans earlier comment, thats surely along the same lines of 'no one bar the specialist outfits should attempt to change a cambelt'? Can see what you're hinting at hence my Darwin comment, but a lot of the good intentioned reasoning comes across as being overly paranoid...
