This is the one I'm running

For gaming it probably doesn't matter too much what type of panel it is. As long as it's a got a good refresh rate, response time and colour rating like DCI-P3 and 10bit colour.
I've got the VA27WQ which is the curved version.
Great screen.
I went from a Samsung 1080P 24" monitor to the Asus 1440P 27" monitor and the 27 is much better.
Years ago in the days of the Opteron and Core Duo/Quad I had an all singing watercooling setup. Circa 2004-2008. The biggest overclocks pushing 100%. I'll have to see if I've got any old cpuz screenshots.

Depends what I run it alongside.
Mono, recon barrel, ranger, tac laser and 60 round mags if I use it alongside a sniper.
Mono, merc, 5mw laser, no stock and 60 round mags if I run it with an assault rifle.
You can see in the graphs above that even thought the 6800XT is ahead in 4k. It's not hitting 120FPS on all games.
6900XT or 3090 will be required for 4k gaming. £1000-1500... as you say 1440p is much more achievable on a budget.
On the desktops for analytical and graphical purposes we have at work it's generally more and faster cores, minimum 32gb ram and a fast SSD that help. The software packages take advantage of multimode CPUs.
If we're doing rendering a decent gpu helps, can't remember what GPU we've got but I...
