I do have to say that there's something very clean and quite elegant in the simplicity of how it looks. The VXR8 looked great - but this appears more laid back, sleek even.

That would be my first suggestion. I wouldn't even want to change one piece of hardware without a reformat - let alone a new system of components. It's amazing just how much s**t, configs and unnecessary crap builds up from simply using a PC. It's by far the simplest solution to try first also...

Yep - exactly that. You buy what you get - there's no mods as yet from what I can gather. Physics and visuals are improved - audio of the cars with some decent headphones on is brilliant.

Make sure you have a dabble at the Highlands Long circuit that's inbuilt in the vanilla Assetto Corsa. It's actually one of my favourite circuits in a racing game. See what you think about Assetto Corsa Competizione if/when you buy that. ;) https://www.assettocorsa.it/competizione/screenshot/
