if your heatshield isnt damaged mate, dont fix it! Just check the clutch cable at both mounting ends, also check for any worn areas along the cable housing. chances are the heatshield isnt a major culprit, mines knackered and i have no problems getting gears etc. (BTW there about 25quid new from...
