Daydotz ^^ I would take a few hours to do it in one day if I were you and put the fist coat of egp over the srp. Ideally leave 12 hrs between coats of egp.
SRP is a polish with filllers EGP is a sealant and then you ideally want to top off with a wax, I use Collinite because it looks good and...
I think for the money EGP does a good job, it's just the curing time which makes layering a bit of a pain. But I think for looks and performance when it's on it is a very good product.
I have and continue to tell people about SRP, when they are used to using T-Cut etc they really aint going...
Great set of photo's!
Love the 106, the speedlines set it off. But the valver is AWSOME, lucky! if I was after a mk1 it would have to be silver and standard, when ever I see a silver mk1 it just reminds me of Jean Ragnotti's Diac maxi rally clio, even though it's a completly different beast I...
True. A guy I worked with had one imported and that was standard. Noticibly quicker than a 1*2 from a standstill. He'd rev to about 4000rpm and let her go, the grip was amazing, it just bit into the tarmac and launched.
When I took my clio in to have some worked done there was a modified GTir...
You'll never please everyone so it's best if you just drive what makes you happy. Try being an mx5 owner, one of the best handeling cars you can buy for under £5k yet every ill informed numpty on the planet will make you endure the 'it's a womans car' insults.
There's nothing wrong with that question imo.
I want to get another 70's classic ford, but store my clio so if anything happens I have a decent reliable car as back up.
I've spent a decent amount of cash doing work / servicing the clio, it's worth more to me really than it's value, I'd...
They are standard from the factory on the corsa sport 1.4 and 1.6 the GSi also has a different type of 3 spoke as standard.
Nice corsa btw. I spent my youth driving and cleaning corsa's so I like them!
What products are you using on the black arch and bumper trim, they usually always go grey...
I'll second that,
If you can handle the image £8k would get you a turbocharged mk1 mx5 sat on coilovers with well over 300bhp on tap, you could do the work yourself they are mechanically simple and great to work on.
This ones mine, a good idea what they look like standard, the floor mats are the only addition I've made!
Still got the wee 14" rims and ride height. She's done over 84k miles aswell (not bad for 84 yeeaaah)
Giles' car would be worth veiwing, it looks good in the photo's and you...
Get one, you won't be dissapointed.
They've got the sport lights at the front, electric sunroof / windows, air con, alloy bonnet, some seem to have leather headrests. The plastic trim around the sterio on the dash / window swiches is different to some PH1's aswell, I think, and the seat are...
I'm a big mopar fan too. A challenger RT or 'cuda AAR would be awsome.
I love the sound a v8 makes, I cant get that excited about 4 cylinder engines unless they are turbocharged.
It just reminded me of the origional burnout game, when you try and build up your burnout meter up by driving like a nob, but in this case it was for real.
Those cars deserve a spanking every now and then imo but he sould save that sort of driving for a track.
My regulator went aswell, about a year ago, and yes it was raining at the time too. I remember I had a car full of stuff from the plumb merchants and had to decide wheather I was going to have a wet car or have a working kitchen.
Needless to say when I saw how much it was going to cost to fix...
haha they should be known as the PH-AIL
They are, in all honesty, reasonably good cars, they are certainly the best looking hatch around imo.
The french have european small car styling down to a fine art, where as Ford manufacture (perhaps) the most rounded small cars.
....as for...
Thanks for the reply Dave.
I'll have a look.
I don't usually get a chance to open the car up as most of the roads I use regulary are in 30 zones and it wouldnt be safe to get upto 5k in any gear. so it came as a right shock, it was like a ship sounding a fog horn in the car!
Driving today (in the rain) finally get onto a stretch of road and put my foot down to accelerate, get to about 5000rpm and it sounded like the worlds largest and loudest Tuba was played at full volume in my car untill about 5500rpm and it died off completly, (it did this in every gear) it...
I've got a 1.6 clio and they are very good little cars; reasonable on insurance / tax and fuel, I imagine the focus will be more reliable though.
If you want to save cash what about a 1.7 or 1.4 turbo diesel lupo.
I wouldnt worry about performance stats tbh dom at this level of motoring it...
I've seen his excellent work over a year ago (when I had a GTII) over on Scirocco world, standard wheels have probably never looked so good after a refurb.
Second wheels from the bottom are Clio MK1 RSi I think. (Same 4x100pcd as VW)
R5GTT (and raider) wheels are 13" so they 'may?' foul your calipers.
Even he taurus 14" wheels on my rsi are only a couple of mm from touching the edge of the caliper and they are standard wheels so I'd see if someone can lend you a R5 wheel to try before you go and buy a set...
Is it 'ek!
I've bought a model of most of the cars I've owned over the years it's a bit of fun! What may, perhaps, be perceived as sad is that I buy models of the cars I can't afford to own in real life ;) hence the clio v6 sat on my desk.
As evolution says 1:18 would be nice, there is a...
Smart looking motor, prob the only modern 5 door I'd consider.
Should be an easy one to take out, the chaps usually have a wonder around the car to see if there are more dints he can take out or stone chips he can deal with then give you an 'all in' price, but in your case the thing looks so...
Perfect advice.
I'm still struggling with no. 1 on the list (after over 10 years of driving!!!hehe) and I can only ever afford to go as far as no. 2!! Oh well.
Washing cars (outside) in winter is no fun.
I did the same job many years ago, I used to have to run the pressure washer with the tap switched off for a couple of secs every evening so the water didnt freeze and expand, busting the pump. Even a wrung out sponge would be a solid lump in the...
If I had a £150 to spare on a polisher I would be interested.
Like Rich says guy's who don't already own a polisher will want one or those who cba importing a PC who then have to buy a transformer and lengthen the power cable, all at extra expense, money that could be spent on products.
