I got my first car in 99. I was 22 with no no-claims, driving since 17, 3points. Fully comp on a £3500 RT (back then it cost that) was £800 for the first year, £700 second year, then £500 3rd and £400 4th with no points by then. Total rip off. For a grand you can now pick up a decent RT...

My second hand VTS had the multilok fitted so that the car has to be in neutral to lock it (supposed to be so that you lock it in first gear). Yet still I start with depressed clutch through force of habit. Sometimes when waiting in traffic or waiting to pick someone up, I still find myself...

in my experience against both, I can slightly ease ahead of CooperSs but not quite with 172s never mind 182. My vts handles better than all though.

Those SuperLeggas look more like 15s in those pics.

16v for a Citroen Saxo VTS cost £6.08 each, thats with the sticky back still attached. I often see them on ebay as above for £8-12. Even the ones clearly stolen (no sticky back) make £6 or so. I had my 16v badges nicked by some skip rat. On a Corsa now if its the guy I suspect.

So would there be much difference between a 182 Cup and a 182 with Cup pack?

Someone photoshop a 16v bonnet vent onto it in the same place it would be on a 16v. Would look wicked.

Ah, I remember when my RT (pics on profile) left the street. I had a lump in my throat. Loved it to bits and thought Id really miss it. Truth is the VTS has been so good, Ive not looked back for a second.

Yeah dont get me wrong. For what they are they pretty good. Certainly more responsive, economical and refined than older 1.2 engines. Its just around my area there are loads of tarted up 1.2 Clios, Puntos etc being driven around as if they are rockets. Thrashing them to within and inch of...

^^ I agree, Ive seen this in the flesh and the blue is really vibrant. Subtle yet still aggressive. Tasteful and not ott. No lexus lights, no sunstrips or stickers. Nice one.

Cruising along past Gateshead stadium, along Felling by-pass and towards Boldon. Two up - male driver and younger male passenger. Looked fanstastic. I spotted the other mk2 low spec Clios around you and made yours look all the more wicked. **04 NR* Anyone?

My vote goes to clio16v1996 out of all those.

I never used the word prick. My comment is only for people who claim performance their car cant match. If yours has 1.2 on then fair play to ye.
