Saw one in a local dealer the other day. Looks nice but you can tell it's a cheaper model due to the wheels and ride height. That could be sorted but lowering will obviously affect your warranty.

Yup the plastic wheel arches certainly are hot hatch heritage. I'll never forget my first VTR, I loved how beefy it looked compared to the 1.1 Saxo it replaced. The worlds moved on though...

The 1*2's were rather subtle compared to cars like the Saxo VTS and Peugeot 106 GTI. As stated above though, the slightly more refined image probably appealed to a wider audience than the tacky plastic bodykits of those cars.

Thanks for the tips guys. Well if anyone has any decent used / retrimmed examples then please let me know as I may be interested. If there are any retrimmers out there I would be happy to exchange the tatty one on my Vee for a retrimmed example plus some cash your way.

Yup, looking at the price of a retrim I think this is the probably the best idea. Sod the airbag! :)

My Mark 1 steering wheel is in desperate need of some TLC. I've been quoted more than £200.00 for a replacement so I'm looking at the possibility of sourcing a good 2nd hand example or a re-trim (I take it there are no other options?). If anyone could point me in the right direction or offer...
