It's not spectacular, but it will at least get you gaming with a little room for future improvement. It's a shame you can't squeeze an i5 (k) CPU into your budget as then your future upgrades will be much better (e.g. if in 6 months or a year you can afford a better GPU, the i5 will get the...
Can you use your old case, dvd rom, HDD and PSU? If so that will help save some cash. For £500 you could get the following:
I5 4690k £165
Decent motherboard £100
8GB RAM £60
R285 £140
£465, Done!
If you can squeeze a little more budget out you could wang a 256GB SSD in there for another £70.
That sat me down! Haha. No worries dude, (I've played since 1.3, we got the quarters of i17 on 1.6 back in the day, and I think GO is the best iteration yet!)
I don't expect GTA to have aiming like an FPS such as CS but it does annoy me the level of accel, hopefully they'll patch it but even...
If you don't have any issues with mouse acceleration being on then you don't know what not having mouse acceleration feels like! (Not having a go)
Like Addicted I'm an fps gamer and coming from CSGO where there is 0 mouse accel, I can feel a f**k load on GTA and it's annoying.
That being...
Don't worry mate, the cracked/pirate scene for PC games is f**k all nowadays because they can never be played online due to Steam/Origin/whatever authentication. Anyone who is serious about the game is forced to buy it so it's all good!
Honestly mate I'll try to explain it but you need to try it to see it properly.
A 120/144 (144 in my case) has been the biggest benefit to my gaming since I upgraded to a decent graphics card and started getting more than 30fps. If you've experience the difference between 30fps and 60fps you'll...
Keep am eye out for second hand monitors, there are some bargains to be had if you're patient!
Also one thing I didn't mention is that the 2013 DA is quite a bit lighter than the original, much better for low sens players!
Awesome Welshname! Looks a decent enough set up for CS:GO that's for sure, but you will deffo want at least 120hz monitor once you get into it, 60hz is just painful on CS :(
Also, you mention you've had 3 death adders but prefer the MS 3.0, were any of the DAs thr 2013/14 version? They improved...
This has cost roughly 470 if you include the windows licence, but it's a one off cost which I liked the thought of. We did look at office 365 and it was a strong consideration but due to the use of non-microsoft software shared across PCs and users I didn't know how easily it would integrate...
Sorry @rctempire , here you go:
It's pretty minging by normal PC standards, never mind a proper server, but hey I don't care about the internals if it works like I want it to!
With regards to RAM as I said 8GB is performing perfectly for now, if it starts to chug and need more I'll toss a...
The reason for the AD is for different access rights for users. There are certain folders with sensitive information which only need to be accessed by management, but there are other folders that need to be accessed by everyone. Staff have access to computers when management aren't at on...
Thanks for your opinion.
A) I don't believe the amount of memory I'd going to be a problem at all, I have now set up the AD and file server on 2012 essentials and it is plenty fast. Let's not forget that there's only ever going to be two or three users at a time accessing file, and nothing of...
I put esxi on after being recommended it by a friend, didn't know anything about either tbh so took his word for it! Plus I'm on Windows 2012 essentials (the cheap one) so not sure if that applies?
Tapatalk won't let me upload a pic :-( here's a generic one:
Progress so far:
Sorted out the trunks for each VLAN and a VPN from home into network.
VM1 - CentOS 7 CS:GO server up and running (lol, priorities!)
VM2 - Windows server 2012 R2 Essentials (only installed the OS so far)
VM3 - CentOS 7 installation ready for Packetfence (for wifi captive...
I think I'd be tempted with a 4K TV for that price. When I last looked a couple of months back there were some available that get decent reviews for around the £1k mark
Yeah, I've been umming and ahhing for ages about setting up a proper server for work and at the price of these things (£190+VAT after the Lenovo cashback, the CPU itself is nearly worth that!) plus an extra £30 to double the RAM, it was a no brainer tbh!
Nice joke btw lol :tongueout: At first I though oh yeah he's being really helpful, then realised what it meant after I posted! (I'm no command line expert!)
Hey all,
I've just bought a new server for work as we've never had a proper server, just shared folders which is crap for security etc. It's only a pretty basic one, here are the specs:
Lenovo Thinkserver TS140
- Intel Xeon e3-1225v3 Quad Core 3.2 (3.6 turbo)
- 8GB ECC Unbuffered 1600mhz RAM
-...
It wasn't until I replaced my wharfedale fronts in my living room with B&W Cm's that I could actually hear the difference between FLAC and 320kbps. No chance I could hear the difference in my car and that's got half decent speakers in it!
