I needed some PS3s for my Turinis so had a look. £485 inc VAT and fitting for 205/45/16s. Not a bad deal.
Dropped a friend of @Brigsy a message to see if he could match it and do a deal on fitting. Picked them up this morning - £400 fitted and balanced.
Back up for £553.56 fitted now. Very...
I was going to say possibly a hole or seal failure in the box. The smoke will have been the oil blowing onto your exhaust. The whining is probably the sound of the gears through lack of oil. Off to @NorthloopCup for a rebuild and a diff me thinks.
Highlight of the day were two lads from the lakes who picked this 172 for a packet of dolly mixtures.
Completely standard engine with K-Tec suspension and AR1 tyres.
Bloody nutters 😂 I managed to get past them in the morning - just - when my car was working, but they drove the wheels off it...
Another productive track day despite the weather.
The car ran fine for about 10 laps, before the throttle stuck open again. Fortunately, it happened during a gear change and not approaching a corner.
I caught up with Fred and James from @FrogJam Motorsport who were getting some seat time in...
You’re welcome.
When replacing the floor-to-bracket bolts, ensure the bolts have sufficient threading.
When I first replaced my rear beam, I bought some bolts from Cromwell to save money. Unfortunately, these bolts didn't have enough thread, so I had to temporarily use a bunch of washers until...
The bolt that goes through the bracket and bush is 7703002732 and uses an M10 bolt.
Kam Racing sell them here - https://www.kamracing.co.uk/renault-oe-rear-bush-retaining-bolt-nut-renault-clio-mk2.html
The bolts that go through the floor and into the bracket have captive retainers on them -...
With another track day approaching, I inspected the ITBs to determine the cause of the sticking throttle.
With the filter off you can see a fair bit of dirt and sticky residue.
A close up.
Whipped the trumpets and front plate off for easier access.
Used a lint cloth and carburettor...
Avoid a PMS exhaust then. Mine sets off car alarms just reversing slowly off the drive 🙉 And that’s just my stock 182. Strangely it’s only 92dBs @5,500 rpm
A few from Croft.
I love this shot with the blurred background.
Met a lad and his dad with this PH1. Proper people and the car was really quick. Followed them around for a bit.
Arse end shot coming out of Hawthorns and through the Chicane. You have to approach this one just right to avoid...
Brilliant day at Croft, although it wasn’t it without its problems.
It rained all the way there, but by the time the fun began, the rain had stopped. The track was damp but gradually drying out.
I thought I’d be rolling around the car park puddles but managed to wing a garage.
Bought...
As above. I’ve been storing my Clios outside for the last 7 years. Run the fuel down, park them up in October, run the engine in December, ready to go in Spring. Just repeat more often if you’re storing for longer.
My @FrogJam Motorsport Corvette brake ducts arrived.
Lovely touch with the Froggo (Fred) and Jam (James) pot. Cheers fellas.
Came at the right time as I discovered my new ducting on the NS had ripped. I think I left too much length on the end and hadn’t tightened the cable tie enough. It...
