This will be f**king ace. That bit of time between the track closing, and the band starting where everyone is still a bit uncomfortable around people would be the perfect time to get the tunes going. Beers will flow, music pumping, people dancing, DaveDreads being sick somewhere.
CANT f**king WAIT
Is that your mum?
My mum's ex partner had his dad's RS1600i in the garage the whole time they were together. It never moved in the 10 years I knew him. Probably still there now, and worth quite a bit!
It's currently on some sort of springs, possibly apex, and a powerflow exhaust.
Ideally I want to replace the rear bumper for an uncut one, and a stealth exhaust, eibach springs, and wheels back to silver.
Tidy up a few things like retrimmed steering wheel and maybe a MINT driver's seat...
What makes you think it's not normal? Temp gauge is sitting where it should be?
Ambient air temperature is going to be pretty high aswell now so it'll take longer to cool, and probably feel hotter than it is
The first half of the gauge will drop pretty quickly, then it'll slow down. My old 172 would show just one bar on the gauge after putting a tenner in, even though that's pretty much 1/4 tank
Shouldn't be on a 2k mile old engine?
I took it out for a good thrash yesterday and temps never went over 90 degrees.
I'm gonna get the lead for the ECU and plug in and see what temp the sensor is seeing. Then do a coolant change and see what happens
Just looked at the dunnel rail and it's not that expensive. Will do a bit more reading up and I'll probably swap to that if it is going to be the better option
Cheers @harvsurrey appreciate the comments. I did a bit of reading last night and apparently Zetecs do like to run hot, and 100 degrees is ok, but it certainly rose above that.
It's running the raceline water rail so hasn't got a header tank. It's probably running the original coolant from when...
So after it's MOT this morning I came home for a few hours kip, and then set off for the evening session at donnington.
Really enjoyed it, but it certainly wasn't ready to chuck straight on the track! But at least I now know the niggles that need ironing out.
Could only do short stints on...
