Yeah I'm with Sky this year, so far I'm really impressed!

Judging from your questions it doesn't sound like the car for you! The Mpg and gearing/gearbox are two of the 197's weakest points, they're not particularly good on the motorway either.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day, Dan. A friend of mine always carries his camera around in his car on the off-chance that he'll want to take a shot. I like the idea because as I'm starting to enjoy photography more I find myself wanting to get the camera out more frequently.

That's what I thought, looks like deliberate retardism.

It's worth noting that a minor difference in handling, tyres or driver ability makes a massive difference on track.
