mmmm, 1500 miles is a bit ambitious to be expecting slick performance, mine was still tight at 1500 miles.
Checked my mileage and its sitting at about 2500 now and it feels like a different car. Also noticed the exhaust is a lot louder than it used to be.
My 182 never felt as quick as the one i test drove. Once i got over 2000 miles on it, it started to loosen up nicely and its now as quick as the test car; it was very stiff for the first 2000 miles though, so be patient!
I suspect that its got some more loosening to do. Also, i find the 182...
Ive found the opposite, with the ESP switched off the front of the 182 moved left and right violently with the revs screaming. With the ESP on, just plant the throttle and itll do the rest ... thats what ive found anyway.
It seems that the TC on the 182 is different to the TC on my old Fiesta...

Anyone got a stockist for the Magnex one?
My dads car has a cat back Magnex and its the right volume for what id like - it has a nice deep burble but not noisy for just normal driving - subtley loud id say, but not "blown exhaust boy racer" sound.
Your cup will deffo be a lot looser than the test car id have thought.
The 182 i had a drive of when looking about had over 3000 miles on it (still not ideal) and it was great - when i took delivery of my own 182 with 200 miles on the clock it felt like a totally different car; it was slow...
Yep, i had this - faulty coolant temperature sensor which made the temp gauge go all over the place and it flooded the car with fuel causing it to stall and stop completely.
Fixed under warranty.

This isnt true, my car is an import and it has cup chassis and cup spoilers.
Its missing the alarm, locking wheels nuts and AA - not too bothered about that since a set of...
My TC/ABS/SERV lights came on when i stood on the brakes sharply at about 90 mph.
If i was to list the problems ive had with Ford cars in the past, id need a whole new thread to detail it all.
Seb,
Ive had this happen to my 182 and its happened to a couple of people on here - faulty coolant temperature sensor (hence the temp gauge going everywhere). The car gets flooded with fuel and it eventually dies.
Ive got 2000 miles and three months of ownership, and so far ive had:
1) Coolant temperature sensor fail, replaced under warranty
2) Exhaust gas warning light came on but went off, possible relation to the first fault due to fuel flooding the engine
3) SERV, ABS and TC lights came on (went...
I have poor juddering on a cold morning almost to the point of no power when hitting the throttle. I need to let it tick over for a minute or so to prevent it, then i might give it some stick to 4000 rpm and everything is fine after about a minute. Id imagine if i did drive away after just...
I had no end of problems with my ZS, the engine sounded as rough as dogs after 55k miles - that was with Ford dealer servicing and my own oil change after 6 months.
I had a set of 4-way 6x9s in my old car (with 12" Vibe sub) and they sounded pretty good to me. The front speakers were components, so thats something to do with it I expect.
I find the sound in the 182 to be a nice all round balance where as the 6x9s were overpowering from the rear so I had...

what petrol you using ??i only ask as i had to put some 95 ron in last week and the car ran quite roughly especially at idle, yesterday i put the good old optimax back in and its running lovely and smooth again, i know the optimax thing is...
Depends on the weight of each car for a start.
I would imagine the performance of two cars with the same weight and power would be quite similar? Gearing/tyres etc would make a difference too.
We all know the 182 is lumpy and juddery from cold, but ive noticed that my 182 has been very lumpy the past week in the morning (not colder than usual). It actually feels like its perhaps not firing properly and performance is guff from 1000-3000 rpm (but it picks up fine afterwards)...
HPI check only shows up cat a/b/c/d write offs (as mentioned), and not general insurance claims. I checked this out recently because there is a car garage near where i live sells exotic cars at strangely cheap prices - turns out they were write offs but repaired (which an HPI check would reveal...
