SOLUTION - Cutting out, won't idle, EML/coil light

Are you getting 12v at the plug? I had a ph1 where one of the main power wires to the fuel pump was corroded. Also check the relays are functioning properly. High emissions could be loads but most likely to be your pre-cat lambda sensor. If it's been sitting for a while injectors tend to play...

    Sensor for climate control

if it's a blue dot on the outside it's the late climate sensor which doesn't have an integrated fan and is quieter. You can swap it out for one. If you get it plugged into CLIP you'll be able to see if one of the sensors isn't working because the temp listed on the parameters page will be -64...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Cheers dude. Yeah they're so much better that the cruddy standard one. For the cruise control you have to sand them out a bit to fit the 182 squib connector. This one was listed as spares of repairs as the leather has pealed but it's perfectly passable. Ordered a machined washer for it yesterday...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Time for a quick update as I've been off the radar for a couple of months. Since the wide track conversion I've sorted out a few little niggles with the conversion and done about 500 miles in the car. First was to swap the wheels for some proper 172 wheels. I'd been on the hunt for wheels for...

    Retro-Fit Cruise Control

Having done this on a few ph2s I would say this is probably possible. I trust this was an option from factory. If meganes or other clios using the same ECU have cruise you will be able to do it. You may find your missing the wiring in the engine bay but connect everything and give it a go. In...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

I would try and buy them second hand and although this has now sold, this is what you'd be looking for https://www.cliosport.net/threads/cup-alternator-setup.818131/ Paul Temperton or https://www.cliosport.net/forums/renault-parts-direct-official-parts-supplier.258/ Same guy but different guise!

    1.2 16V Modifying

I think there’s loads of reasons to modify a low power car but only if you do it yourself. It’s a brilliant way of learning about mechanic without the fear of making expensive mistakes and it’s how I really got into cars. I wouldn’t however convert a petrol clio because the main benefit of a...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Of course I did! Never done it before, it took ages and got my hands filthy. Nah going to get something machined up. I had a washer on the previous conversions I’ve done but it just never sat right with me. Need to sand out the back of the wheel for the cruise plug as it’s HUGE on the 182...

First of all - new video out this weekend on headlight restoration and fixing clio headlight adjusters. I'll post it in here when it's up but as it's the DCi build you won't get a YT notification. I've done a lot to this car over the past couple of weeks. The body kit is now complete bar...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Seems as if I haven't updated this in an age but plenty has happened. After the power to weight day I put the blue shed in the garage while I got the hubs ready for fitting. As ASTs from @Martin.'s car were 60mm spacing and of the non-adjustable type I needed to swap to cup hubs. Luckily...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Oh god no, that takes extra time. Didn’t want to drill holes like they have on the sport. It’d open the sills up to rust. Bit of tigerseal does the trick. I did have to rivet the bottom of the skirt though.

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Anyone that follows me on insta will have seen I did a bit on the red shed yesterday. Managed to get the wings, front bumper, skirts and headlights on. On friday night I glued the sideskirt brackets on with tiger seal so they were ready for saturday. The headlights underwent a HUGE...

If the part number is 8200186299 on the ABS sensor I'll buy it from you. I never left! You're is really Alex's though  Had a read through your thread, sunroof is blooming nightmare isn't is! With yours because it's a bit older you don't have ABS sensor issues so wide track and rear beam...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

I'll check! When you swapped did you have to change the ABS sensors? I heard the 182 sensors don't work and you have to use 100 sensors on a rear disc conversion with 44t abs. I've always wanted a flamer so can't wait for it to be finished! All about knowing where to look ;)

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Yeah it’s a pain on the 100. The shafts are a bummer. You’ve got a disc rear axle going which is nice, half way there! Cruise is an easy mod in yours, think the loom already has it in so it’s just a case of plugging the bits in and programming the clocks. It was Gris boreal Mv/nv632. It was a...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

They are yeah. It’s white difficult to find a fully specced loom from a diesel, hence why I’m making my own. They did exist though. Main difference with the dci loom is EPAS. 80 has different injectors and boost pressure so the map isn’t a direct swap. I tried an 80 ecu in my old rep and it...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Best to get a loom from the car with all the extras and then spend hours and hours looking at wiring diagrams! No plans for the engine really because I want to maintain it's economy. That said I am going to decat it and if an intercooler kit comes up cheap enough I'll snap it up :) Injectors and...

Today I popped down to see @stevem42 who was a huge help with parts on my old rep and current track car. In his goldmine of parts there was a full 172 body kit. Before fitting this I need to fit the widetrack conversion which has been sitting in the back garden for over a year now! Next job...
