Yeah, that video was tedious. Would hardly have taken them any longer to take the bits off the car properly FFS and all the jumping around and yelling for something that was blindingly obvious…. Just why.
What Taylor brought to it for me was a bit of chemistry with Alex, they had me in stitches...
You need to get the fault codes read, the anti-pollution message could be caused by a multitude of things, evap system leak, lambda probe going bad, cat going bad, ignition system, the list just goes on and on.
I think the Mk4 is really underrated because the Fiesta ST came along and was just that bit more fun in the group tests. But then everyone with a Fiesta as a daily wants to change the s**t suspension. I’d like to run a mk4 for a while too.
I thought that, but it’s not logical because hybrids don’t have them and they can have pretty chunky battery packs plus a tank of diesel/petrol making a reeeely lovely combination.
Nearest I can find from the government announcement at the time was some vague b****cks about raising awareness of...
Nothing to do with ULEZ etc, it’s just to make the car easily identifiable as an EV.
I asked BMW to give me normal plates but they said no because it was “for safety”, whatever that means. Couldn’t be arsed to push the point, I suspect it was just a “computer says no” response. Not sure what...
I think they’ve made a sensible choice, it’s a funky car and making the “free” colour a bold one will make it stand out from the herd.
Even if the reaction is just “I like that, but in a different colour” it’s still capturing attention.
Woah now, what’s all this common sense I’m hearing? Are you SURE you work in security 😉
We’re definitely getting there now at my place, but getting the security/risk stuff in place…. well….. let’s just say a bit more of that attitude was needed.
Enterprise application support in fintech with a lump of AWS on the side.
It’s unusually deep dive support, digging through stack traces etc.
The team are really good, but demoralised and generally beaten up by offshoring and years of being under-resourced. I’d want commitments on being able...
Looks like I’m going to be asked to move back into technical team management again.
I’m a bit torn to be honest. I love being a techie and I hate the stress of management bullshit, but on the other hand I can see they are absolutely sinking and need an experienced manger to sort stuff out...
Struggling to think of a sector which is as nailed-on for growth as defence TBH.
Aviation is vulnerable to economic shocks, fuel prices, etc and I wouldn’t want to bet against a rocky decade on that front. That’s on top of the already absolutely savage levels of cost savings.
Depressing really!
You’ll probably waste a lot more money replacing parts without a proper diagnosis than you‘d spend on getting the codes read, so I’d always start with that. The message could have multiple causes unfortunately.
AI is killing us on the recruitment side. We’re doing offshore interviews and the number of candidates blatantly using it is off the scale. We had someone typing the interview questions into their laptop and just reading what it said 😂
Connects2 do a range of harnesses for the Clio, one of these will work depending on what the original head unit was.

You’ll also need the Alpine specific patch lead...
I think they’re going to be a big hit. They look great, they’re decent to drive, they’ve got good efficiency, they’re well packaged thanks to being on a dedicated EV platform, they’re relatively affordable.
Mini have lost the plot with their new design IMO so that segment is ripe for the taking.
The idea was to give people certainty over the battery cost because in the early days the worries over battery longevity were so strong. Don’t think anyone does it any more.
Next Doom game comes out in May. This looks right up my street, never got on with Eternal because it was so frenetic and if you weren’t constantly in the air you were toast.
This is a little bit of a thread resurrection, but if anyone is into retro gaming I can’t recommend this place enough:
https://www.retrocollective.co.uk/
I went last year and volunteer there now. It’s not some pokey load of boring static displays, it’s hands on retro gaming and they have some...
Tried Airbnb? Depends how close you want to be, there was one that was really close but unfortunately that‘s gone. Some b*****d who’ll probably cancel at the last minute anyway must have grabbed it. What a prick.
Looks like nVidia are claiming big performance gains by using the AI cores to drive a new version of DLSS.
Interesting to see the shift from brute rendering performance to frame generation continuing to pick up pace.
Benchmarks should be interesting!
