A friend of mine who lived in the States for four years thinks that we are mad paying up to several thousands for car number plates, when we can get them for nothing! She says that where she lived, they could pick any numbers and letters for their cars.

Have to agree with you ClioJohn about living in Scotland! Also the roads are much quieter and the scenery is beautiful as well. Arent we the lucky ones? :D

I also reckon that the even older R5 and GTTs must also have been pretty reliable as they are still seen regularly and I know a couple of GTTs in which the paintwork and engine areas look very clean and shiny, obviously down to the care they have received from their owners.

Is there an oil which is better suited to lower mileage driving, where sometimes shortish journeys possibly dont really warm up the engine very much?

There seems to be zillions of Renaults of all ages on the roads all the time, especially old and new Clios so they cant be that bad on reliability. Whenever there are surveys on such things in car mags etc, Renault are way above Ford and Vaxhall and are usually above half way in the league. A...

Mine will need its first service in a couple of weeks and in one year I have done nearly 3,200 miles. Do I leave it to the garage to select my oil, or should I be telling them which oil my car needs? Which is the most suitable oil for my car please?
