Could have bent something steering related? Right side sounds like it could be the culprit.

It should be held on by a 10mm. Im guessing someone has got creative and used whatever is lying around to secure it.

I'd say it sounds like an over tightened auxiliary belt. If so your alternator wont last long.

Its a nightmare on a driveway but doable. Took me a day to get the gearbox out and a day to put it back in. I used the drop the subframe method. If you haven't done much work on the car before you'll undoubtedly come across a range of stubborn bolts...

Could be a cable thats used on an auto gearbox model. Thats a complete guess. I'd say if the car gets down the road problem free then your all good.

You are right! but Ive done cambelt on both and they are much for muchness.

You doing the cambelt yourself? might as well give it a go there is a good youtube video on how to do the cambelt on a D4F 1.2 lump which im assuming is what you have or atleast similar enough. Cambelt kit is just a belt and a tensioner, worth changing the auxilary belt whilst you are there...

Once youve found all the bolts the manifold will come away with no effort. If you pull and it doesnt come away its 100% because there is a 10mm you have missed.

Unclip the airbox and just follow the 10mm bolts around the manifold and i cant remember how many there is but there is a good few of them 10+ maybe. Its a totally doable job dont let it beat you.

If you do have a failed head gasket you should really have the head skimmed. Out of interest what makes you think you have a blown head gasket? mayo on the oil cap isnt a sure sign.
