    172 for £4k?

there are currently some for sale on here for between £4k and £5k with around 50k miles - so they don't all have to have particularly high mileage

V6: Is it really worth it

we did over 40k in ours, in 2 years, and never had a problem, with anything at all - perhaps you were unlucky - or is there a difference between Mk1 and Mk2?

V6: Is it really worth it

you clearly haven't been on a track with JT - believe me, they are faster than the figures suggest, and driveable round a track fast with the right driver - they will beat all the cups / 182's (except for very heavily modified ones) etc., if you can handle it.

V6: Is it really worth it

We had ours for 2 years, and certainly didn't get bored of it, drove it everyday, it was my daily ride, in and out of London 2/3 times a week as well. loved it, sorry it had to go, Trophy is nice, but not a patch on the V6 - it is completely different, the power band is not revvy like a 2.0...

    X and Y reg 172 drivers

oh well, steering wheel seems to be something we would have to live with then, others not so common it seems, but all 3 we looked at were bad :S

    Another Clio bites the dust

due to bad driving - not due to lack of abs - cars haven't always had abs you know, but not everybody drives into fences cos they don't have abs !!! ;)

V6 just gone in for 12k service...

if ours hadn't still been in warranty and we lived close enough I would have been more than happy to get my car serviced and looked after by David at K-tec - there are always some people who have favourites (BB, K-tec, GDI etc) but I have dealt with all of those three mentioned and my preference...

    Blue V6 in Thatcham

    lol !!!
  15. S

V6 just gone in for 12k service...

agreed, Camden MK are pretty crap from the service point of view - however the sales is in a different league, cos the salesman actually knows what he is talking about with regard to Renaultsport cars.

    Which do you prefer?

well, since you acknowledged it is in the wrong section I shall kindly move it for you !!! :)

    Subway's V6

don't do it, one of the best bits is the silver pods on the black v6 - carbon fibre won't look good !!! :dapprove:

    v6 as a Daily Drive...

2 of us for a week's holiday in south of france - plenty of room, and having done over 40000 in ours, using it every day, up and down motorway, in and out of London, if you love it you will love it every day, regardless ..... I would happily drive one every day again, if someone wants to donate...

Is it worth keeping my old 16v for track or sell it?

J - it doesn't spin like a Mk1 Silver 172 ;) plus it's too slow as well !!! (and don't flame me for that comment - it's based on owning one and taking it on track and personally finding it too slow ok !!!)

    2 Liquid Vee's!!

doubt it, JT's was at Brands trackday yesterday, and he didn't say he'd been to MPH either
  21. S

    Bit of a bargain?

    I want mine back !!!! when I see the sunflower 172's - I really miss mine !
  22. S

    Black?

they are very different - we had a pearl black diesel, and the vee was black gold - the pearl black is also a nice colour, but black gold is way better imo

How many Liquid Yellow V6's were sold in the U.K?

the moonlight blue is owned by Renault, it was the car of one of their employees, but I believe it is to be returned shortly, if not already.
  24. S

    Trophy modifications argument...

it does sit too high, even Renault will admit that !
  25. S

How many Liquid Yellow V6's were sold in the U.K?

have you searched this topic? I think the answer is out there already !! if not, try RenaultSport forum, JT might see it quicker there, or someone else from Renault will have the answer there are at least 7 I know personally !!! but obviously there are more than that
  26. S

    Trophy modifications argument...

ours has uprated brakes (necessary if, as Lee says, you do many track days) and an exhaust - just gives it a bit more "noise" as in standard form it is a bit quiet, especially on track, it sort of "hums" past!!! :o have also put harnesses in, can be taken out of course if required. standard...

    172 cup to Mk2 v6

well there was 100% nothing wrong with that car when you bought it, apart from the stone chips, and it's apparently had all sorts of problems since you owned it ...... your statement doesn't hold water hon !!! hence I would not like to pay you £17k for the car thanks !!! ;)
  28. S

    172 cup to Mk2 v6

which goes to prove my comment - "until you wrecked it" - there were no issues with the oil gauge when we had it !
  29. S

    172 cup to Mk2 v6

after you've wrecked it, I don't think so hon :dapprove:
  30. S

    172 cup to Mk2 v6

we had a 172 cup before the V6 255 - the cup was great and the Vee was super great - and yes, it is quicker actually, despite what people say and the smiles never stop - and at the moment petrol is cheaper anyway - unless you just plain can't afford it, and then of course there is no fun...
