Don't forget, you'll need the ph2 bonnet too. Prima Racing converted a ph1 172 into a ph2 to fit their super 1600 kit, should be too hard, just a case of swapping over the parts and rewiring the fogs and lights.
I'd go for the Alpine unit, but if you can stretch a little more go for this >

afaik there have been no images, videos, etc released for the PS3 games that have actually been running on the PS3 hardware, just top spec PC's so you can't comment on the graphics.
I played on the X360 a couple of days ago and the picture was so sharp, and looked cool being properly rendered...
Good recommendations but I'd go for this h/u instead

General rule of thumb, within your budget, would be to go for an Alpine H/U, but for speakers, amps, etc there are so many different brands available that its hard to suggest anything in particular. Everyone has different opinions os its best if you can get to a car audio shop and listen to as...
You could probably get 6's in but there is no point in having any speakers in the rear. Ditch the oe ones and don't replace them. They just ruin the sound stage.
All you need is a good set of components (preferably 6.5's if you are prepared to knock up some mdf spacers) and an amp, but I would...
Please don't do this, they are robbing b******s and pain in the ass to deal with. They are less than a mile from me, so I have bought stuff from them before but never again. The worst thing is if you don't know what you want or you have no knowledge of ICE, they will always try to sell you stuff...
Dunno what to do about the grommet but for the earthing point, the best thing you can do is simply drill a hole in the boot floor, or use the mounting bolts for the rear bench, under the black cover (this is what I've done). But remember to strip all the paint from the surface around the point...
There is a lot of confusion with the release atm. I ordered mine from Game (on the web) but it says that only people who ordered before 22nd August are guarenteed one for launch, but I didn't order mine till September. I had to go into the Merry Hill store Stuarday to collect my preorder pack. I...
Not much to it, just gota drill a couple of holes to line up with the mounts in the ph1 bootlid. You can make out where I have drilled to fit the ph2 on mine in this pic >
I've not lost my spare key, but recently its just stopped working. I've replaced the battery, but it opens the door and begins to start the engine, but doesn't appear to turn the immobiliser off so it cuts the engine off, I pressume this just need reprogramming?
I got a leaflet through the post this morning saying that there is some preorder pack waiting for me in store. Anyone know whats in it? I ordered off the net so I pressume I can go into any store and get the pack.
Rather than going on your parents insurance (fraud) insure it in your own name and add your parents as additional drivers. I did this with mine (not a 172 but the principle will be the same) as they drive my car occasionally but I use it to drive to uni, and my insurance quotes came down from...
The rears are 5.25" (same as the front) but I wouldn't really bother with any, it can kinda ruin the sound stage. But, I would recommend DLS too, I've got the MS6's in mine and they are awsome. I'd also recommend buying stuff form Dalco as I have a mate over on the type-r forum who bought quite...
Sadly its not a 172, its only a 1.2 8v :-(
Cheers for the comments guys, it was a pain in the ass to get right.
Clart - I want blank plates but just haven't got round to getting any yet. I was thinking about ph2 lights but not sure if they would suit the car.
racing182 - I should really...
After attempting this a couple of weeks ago people commented on how obvious the join was. Well I've just had a go at refitting it and have done a much better job this time. I had to cut even more slits into the splitter to allow it to sit a lot straighter. Here's the before and after pics...
If you buy a single brand for all the audio the rms figures of amps, subs, and speakers will be well matched, but that doesn't mean that another manufacturer won't make any suitable amps.
Don't bother with rear speakers, take the oe ones out, chuck them in the bin, and leave the rears empty.
Why do people have to turn genuine posts into arguments.
You definately need an new headunit, front components and an amp, but I would suggest you get a sub too, I think systems sound 'empty' without a sub.
My current setup is DLS MS6 components (they are 6.5", its a tight fit in the...
