Yes I did, I think you did too? I can't believe the way you walked away on the straights.
I've just fitted a new brake setup and was just dialling in to how late I can stand on the brake pedal :) Took me to the end of the session to get a handle on the uphill braking into the 90° left hander, I...
Who was this in the Trophy? I was chasing you in a LY 220 for a good few laps, its rapid! What mods does it have? I could see some tasty seats and a rear anti-roll bar. It was pulling away on the straights, is it boosted? I was making a bit back under braking its the only way I could keep up...
It wasn't sorry, I was back at my digs and asleep by then in preparation for the Snowdon slog!
Coming soon, we will be selling them through the TurboRenault.co.uk shop with proceeds to the CSF charity. We do not keep ANY of the money.
I am just downloading the 8gb of images now.
Thank you to all the admins and organisers - thoroughly enjoyed the whole event as always. I am going to bring my family next year so they can do some track driving too :)
Thank you also for allowing us (TurboRenault) to join the event again - getting together with the gang every year is a...
@Sunglasses_Ron check the website mate as when I looked the train was fully booked until Aug 7th!!! It was my backup plan for getting down if I was spent after the walk up. You also have to prebook parking for the Miners track - it was full when I got there, didnt know that either so I had to do...
The radial mount hanger kit is made for the Meg 2 / Clio 3 calipers - i'm sure you could fit Meg 3 ones but I went with the bolt on/no faff option, I have enough projects ongoing as it is lol
I wanted bigger discs but after months of looking for options and finding nothing cost effective I got my act together and bunged the Brembo upgrade on with RS bimetallic discs. I hoped the Meg 340mm dicsc would fit but the offset is miles wrong. Nobody does a bell/rotor unless you buy a full...
Few delays for a couple of small issues but here we are at the MOT station!
Drives well, its got some niggles for Paul to sort, like slow electric windows.
BIBLICAL rain on the way, and had to turn on lights, fan, wipers...this revealed a sickly alternator! It passed the MOT though so i've...
MOT passed, another year out on the road.
Every time I take it out I get people giving waves and thumbs ups out the cars, or from the pavement, which is lovely - however I was on the A46 the other day headed south toward the M40 and I pass a cop car on the inside... carefull at the speed...
Update - I bit the bullet and took the engine out. I just wasnt happy with the clutch at all.
Good job, as we were close to a complete failure.
In summary, the wrong release bearing was supplied with the clutch. It's way too small, and was jamming in the middle of the spring fingers, or...

And: Engine needs to come out again, clutch isnt right. Whoever built the fly/clutch setup has f***ed up somewhere. Its now intermittantly dragging, intermittantly squealing...
This is why I do all my own work, terrified of what would happen if someone f**ked my car up. I wouldnt react well, especially my 21 :o
I go to a very select few personal friends for things I cant do. Fortunate to have built that network over time.
After this car went back to the owner he loved it so much it became his daily driver :)
Fast forward to earlier this year, someone reversed into it and broke the headlight and bumper :( cue a massive war with the insurance companies... in the end resolved but with the car not repaired.
The...
Thank you, I'm cursed with a love of these stupid old things it seems.
With current labour rates if you can't spanner yourself, its just not realistic to run a 21 (or many other classics) now, for example i'm maybe 80-100 hours into the other black one thats here - at a normal garage thats...
The OE car has 2 intercoolers, a fat one sat low in the OS front wing getting a nice cold air feed from the front bumper. The second one sits above the rad at the front. On this car, the second intercooler has been replaced with a chargecooler.
Ah, forgot, I had to trim the rad top down to fit the chargecooler too, it wouldnt quite fit. Not convinced on the chargecooler, it gets hotter then I would expect. More like a chargeheater!
After i'd swapped the fans to the correct side (front) of the rad (lol), in it went.
The old air filter box was in the boot, so I used it, the clips were all missing though so I gaffer taped it for now until I can get hold of some
Better
Brief test drive resulted in a very flat engine...
I got most of it done, then got the car outside to flush the rad, which went well. Ran it with the flush in and no thermostat. FLushed it through a few times and ran it up to temperature, the fans were due to come on, and in gratiture for all my efforts, it decided to burst the radiator...
