Nope. IIRC Henk at Fastchip designed/ engineered the overrun map JMS can add the pops and bangs 'overrun map' or you can do it yourself via the newer RS tuner unit.

You'll need a remap from JMS, or do it yourself via the RS tuner. The 5k will be 'smoothed' out.

Why would 102,000 miles upset purists? Cars should be driven! The RS clios have strong engines gearboxes TBH. My Mk2 172 is now on 133,000 miles and runs better than ever. I had a gearbox recon and new clutch fitted at 130,000 miles ( the clutch was still fine)

The 172 cup is slightly quicker! However if it will be your wife's daily driver, then I would go for the 172.
