I bought some banded steels. I’m kind of regretting it now as can’t see me ever been able to get the f*****s to fit. 8.5j and 9.5j. They’ll look nice in the shed if nothing else!

My pre volvo days were all clio though. That’s before they started getting a little too expensive.

I’ve owned several 172s / 182s and only ever had one 197. That sums up my experience.

I think your better option would be to just keep the nice clio as a road car and just use it on track as and when. The amount of people on here that go ‘track car’ and do one track day a decade is ridiculous. A standard ish clio with decent brakes, tyres and fresh suspension will go around the...

I had a 197 from new. Great looking cars but they last the zing of the 172/182s plus I only got 28mpg from mine whereas I got 36 from my 182. If I had 3k on a clio to spend I’d be looking for a nice 172/182 rather a 197.

Looks better with the lower canvas. Although it takes 20 minutes to undo it to put anything in the back...

Swapped the canvas for the flat one. Previous owner spent well over £4K on the frame and canvas. They’re off their tits are these dubbers! Think I prefer this look.
