No matter what ya'll say the skirts look amazing, if I find a picture on a //M you'll all be creaming. It's irrelevant for now as I missed it, but nevermind.
Anyway, in the interest of keeping this updated:
I've fitted new wheels:
Friend of TEG's picked them up from somewhere north of The Gap...
Oil usage is very minimal, I don't think it actually "uses" any, if it does, it's very very little. I can't notice. I did have two leaks, rocker cover gasket and oil filter housing.
I've fixed the rocker cover gasket (fitted new one), but not got around to doing the oil filter housing gasket...
It depends, in my opinion the interior on mine is mint.
Get one with sport seats and you've got a cracking set of seats, some of the best I've ever sat in.
Considering mine is an 03, it's pretty well spec'd:
Heated, electric, memory leather
Cruise control
AC
Auto lights and wipers...
I did indeed.
With regards to your choice. What are you looking for? I do a fair few miles but wanted something fun for the weekend blasts etc, this fit the bill.
I'd gladly have the s2k if it was going to do 4k a year, but it's not got the luxury/toys element I wanted in a daily drive...
Thanks all.
I'm telling you, these car's must be infectious. I think I can count 3 members that have one since me getting mine. With the 4th and possibly 5th^^ to come.
Have you got the tools at home to change them yourself? Presses etc?
If not, it's a false economy.
Let's say £20 a bearing as a ball park.
20x2 = £40
Fitting of the above, 1.5/2 hours labour probably. Minimum £60/80
New discs AND pads, £110.
Fit them yourself with basic tools.
I do like the TT's, maybe next.. I have heated leather.. :o
Cheers mate, you remember the RED one? Blimey! What did you have back then? I had the silver 172 for a long time after that!
Thanks, I even thanked you in the OP ffs. Removing that.
Cheers mate, how are you enjoying the 350?
I...
Ohh, exciting. I'm still missing the bits inbetween the roll hoops, but I'm going to make mine out of a speaker mesh as close to the density of the wind breaker as possible. BMW want nearly 150 for two tiny pieces of plastic with mesh inbetween FFS!
Electric breaker? Jealous!
Thanks mate...
Thanks chaps, I'm yet to try out the deflector, I think I may be a bit tall for it to do much, but it'll stop the mrs' hair from going all over the place!
Kev, outside my place isn't exactly exciting for photos, but I did the best I could ;)
Working from home today, so it seemed rude not to give the car a quick wash, and fit something I've had lying around for a while but have been putting off doing (due to it being something you can get very wrong) - the wind deflector.
The zed was quite dirty (not that it shows on a silver...
So, I canny stop modifying it seems.
Bumper and skirts, they're the OEM BMW Aero kit. Found a good deal on them, quite rare to come up TBH.
What do we think.
Mine is as above, the aero kit looks like this:
I'd not be selling your 182 that's for sure. No matter what you think, it's fairly certain it won't save you money.
You currently own a car that, by your own admission, has been taken care of by you. You're then going to buy a ph1, that you personally don't know anything about. You'll end up...
