I know what you're saying, but I think this has perhaps gone a bit too far. To put it right is going to take massive, massive work. He said he paid about £12k for it and it sounded like the history was a bit sketchy when he got it. While good ones are worth big money, I think this one is so bad...
Copied from the Ford thread, as thought it deserved a place here too!
Here's one to make the enthusiasts cry. I had a couple of parts advertised and the owner of this came to buy something. When I first saw it, I assumed it was a rep, but no, it's a genuine Cosworth.

It was, to be honest, an absolute dog :( Obvious it was filthy, but the paint was dull all over...
That's mega. My new favourite CS car methinks. I loved @NorthloopCup's car, but the engine moving into this is next level. What type of flywheel is it running? I know it's a revvy engine and close ratio box, but the way the engine builds revs on the dyno is mental.
Can't wait to see it in...
Are extinguisher rules changing again, have I missed something? I have an RRS kit with six nozzles, I'm just going to let the car burn if that's now wrong lol
Pure Motorsport do one. Don't know if anyone on here has tried it yet?

I'd probably have more faith in the above than the Comp Brake one to be honest. CB don't get...
Ah ok. Thought the light might stay on if the wheel air bag wasn't connected.
One thing I would take from this is that, if it's a road car, I think I'd just keep the airbags, it's a lot easier ?
As far as I'm aware, if the car had an airbag from the factory, it has to have one for the MOT, unless the car has clearly been modified for competition use.
You need to find yourself a friendly tester, or strip the car out and fit buckets and a cage ;)
Not sure it will go full EV, but the next R.S. Megane will have some sort of hybrid tech in it at the very least, 100%. A lot of OEMs are going to start introducing mild hybrid systems to try and keep legislators happy, so I think sporting models will be ripe for it.
Isn't that something that's been widely debated? Talk of sticky tyres etc. Not really relevant to the point I know, but thought I'd throw it out there lol
Oh there are genuine reasons if you look at it subjectively, but the collector car segment is far from subjective  They've struggled in the past, but car speculators and those willing to fork out for limited edition are plenty in number, so who knows.
It's mega money and way beyond what I...
Interesting this. I get what you're saying but, in rallying circles, some people seem to struggle to get the best out of FWD cars. I definitely agree that pedaling a powerful RWD car takes balls but, when it comes to skill, getting a front-driver to really work (especially when not on a race...
It's definitely going to be interesting to see if they can sell them all, as they've obviously struggled in the past. We do live in an age of collectors and speculators, so maybe it will this time. If it had a Ford or BMW badge on it, it would sell out in an instant.
The Civic wasn't a production car, so I don't think it's 'record' should be taken that seriously.
Though how close to production spec any of the record holding cars are will always be up for a date. At least the Mégane doesn't look like a total disaster though lol
