Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
I didnt want to risk soldering to the resistor incase the resistor came off....ive managed to get it to stay on the track this time, hopefully that is good enough...
Going to test it in the morning, hopefully itl work!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
goes into the resistor at the red line first...then comes out the other side as two thinner lines......travels down to those two silver dot things....through them and down to the final red dot, one goes into one side of that resistor......and the other...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
i may have done, but cant do now its come off the track....i think its took the bit of track it was soldered to with it :S
Not sure what to do with it
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
ok its come off the track already....lol.
Think im going to have to try and find someone local who is good with little fiddly circuit boards to get it soldered properly.
The track gets smaller and splits into two further down, so cant exactly join it...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
wish they would have just cut the pin on mine and not fucked up the board inside FFS :(
Its soldered now, but ive no idea if itl stay on the track or not!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
oo cool, il let you know if i do. I was going to pay whatever it cost in petrol anyway.
Anyway, might not need to.
Emulator is now soldered on, power + earth are soldered onto the correct pins, and the emulator wire is now soldered onto the copper track on...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah give it a check over see if there are any cut tracks! and pray that its got 172 software on it, not 1.4 like mine had lol!
Be careful if you want to map it (or anything relating to a flash) as mentioned above though, will wipe the ecu clinics cracked...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah just stuck with the standard map if thats what they have put on it :(
Ah i see. You know when you got it back, and they put their sticker on the front? Did you have anything else stuck to the front that would be of any use?
Mine had a piece of masking...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
ahhh damn :(
Im guessing they have just flashed 'cracked' software onto your unit then....if its not been modified inside that is
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ahh didnt realise, the immobiliser pin will probably be different then
Thanks anyway if you manage to work it out :) or can see any damaged tracks inside
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
EMU was connected on the outside, as a test, to pin 58's wire on the loom. didnt work, obviously now as its not connected inside lol.
Geesus....just a bit off topic, Whiteley says do the cup racer wheels fit onto the mk1 valver boss straight fit? lol
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
LOL....well ive just had another look, and it seems the 'track' splits into two thinner tracks, then goes off elsewhere, far far far too thin of a track for me to do....
sureley its the same putting a blob of solder on the ECU side of the 'hole', and...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Possibly yeah...
The board isnt really a board, its like a piece of printed wafer thin plastic, and its glued to that metal backing....dont think there are any tracks underneath?
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah....I can follow it quite clearly, it ends at some little tiny chip lol....
basically where its been 'scratched', i can see the copper on both sides of the hole....would this mean solder the two bits of track together (with a blob), and it technically...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
its not the wire, its the copper track that needs repairing....I can then hook up the emulator to pin 58 and it should work
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
stabsville, flol.
Id need to get the local into manchester, then manchester to failsville, then back to manchester, then to my local......yawn lol.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, i dont have a problem with soldering, i could do it myself, and i know people that can do it (for a job)...but its just getting to leeds is the issue.
I need it fixing in the next day or two really, had no car for 7 days now....but ive got no way of...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, my emu was connected 'outside' to test if it worked, to pin 58's wire...so yeah it would explain it
yeah he might well remove the connection to the pin, then solder it onto the blob inside for the track
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, but why is james emulator (fitted by paul) soldered to pin 58's pin (the start of the track, blob of solder).....as it wouldnt do anything if the track had been cut....it wouldnt be able to send its 'signal' into the ECU's computer gubbins
The guy...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Andrew Cooke, or Matteh, could you possibly take your ECU casing off and check the ribbon/pcb near pin 58 and see if its the same? If so, its proof that its the ECU Clinic thats done it in my eyes....
yeah^
Although, i had RSTuner show a knock sensor fault in the 'memory', it wasnt currently present though. So he may have had a knock sensor warning at some point, and the diag he has had done has just shown it up, but it could have been in the memory for months....and not currently present...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Im not sure if it can be soldered, dont want to risk f**king up any other tracks!
Ok....pin 58 is on the middle row, three in from the left (you can see the hole)
And then up close, two copies of each, ive drawn on in red where the track should be approx...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
I have no 'hard proof' that they have tampered with the board, or in fact that they flashed the wrong map, its just my word against theres (and maybe matteh's if his is the wrong map too)....
Its just IMO that its them, as no one else has touched the unit!
