    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Nope, it's a regular z4 bumper, not even a facelift ffs! But it was soo cheap I couldn't turn it down. I'm having it painted on the cheap too, so it's an awesome way to tidy up the front end. I'm not going CSL's now, I'm sticking with the 108's I think, they're coming off within a week and...

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

I just quite liked it. Gave the car a different feel for winter. FU all. For now, I'll leave it.

    :R32

Looking good, the coilovers have definitely changed the stance of it, it does have something quite aggressive about it now.

It's already real glass and already heated? lol!!!

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Well obviously, it's a hard top that bolts onto a soft top car.... doi ;) Ant, I'll look into the paint now then.

It doesn't matter if it's round. The new socket will smash grooves into it.

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

LOL! Why the hate Laura? Rob, I may take a look if that's cool?

    MX5 Number 2.

What does this hub nut look like? You always give up to easy with things like this! I bet with a smaller socket and an impact driver you'd wang it off easy. Just last week we had a t30 round off, then it rounded off an allen key we smacked in, then we really manned up and smashed a t50 or...

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

I reject that statement, my painting has always gone just fine! You may dispute my techniques but my results are fine ;) Isn't buying everything in tin form going to cost me a fortune? Very easy, two clips basically. You can buy stands for them, but this one doesn't happen to come with...

Really? Compressor? So buy paint in a tin and primer and lacquer? Always wanted to use a gun.

Pics of this wishbone problem then?

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Yeah, thanks :( I want to get those wheels on though, like sharpish. When can we :D paint? You love painting.

My memory is waff, sorry. :o Good choice though. I want this hard top, I just needed the moral support to stump up the funds.

I don't know what you're buying next? We've never met? lol!

How's your clio doing? Masculine car right there. ;) I can't believe there's so much hardtop hate. I'll probably buy one anyone just to spite you all.

I think it looks alright TBH, another picture: Or on my wheels:

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

There's a picture earlier on of one looking badman, grey hardtop grey wheels, but I do agree, it's a bit... big pimping.. and not really what I'm going for. The hardtop is just really good for the car in the winter, it improves the cabin, negates any possibility of water ingress into the the...

Hmmmm. I quite liked it :(

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Really??? It's about 900x better than the porsche item.
  20. Rob

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

LOL! Personal preference and all that, that actual hard top is for sale. I could get it for £700 I think. It's a lot of money, but it's 100% refundable as it'll sell for that ALL day long.
  21. Rob

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Why not? Useful in the winter, prevents motor failures etc and makes the cabin a nicer place to be.
  22. Rob

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Now important question, hardtop or not?
  23. Rob

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

That's what I thought, red or black. Only two options. Silver car, silver wheels, bit of contrast is sweet. So red'll do nicely. Someone at work is going to build me brackets for free, fortunately I'm competent in CAD, so I'll be designing cardboard templates etc, then drawing it up myself...

Yeah fair enough, I suppose there's too many dodgy types in the north for it to be unheard of. Around here I could write it in marker pen and the old bill would think it's fine.

    MX5 Number 2.

Dude, seriously, it's no different to swapping panels about. If you officially scrap RACK, then swap the chassis from one to another I'm sure you'd be fine. Are they removable plates on them? If so, crack on. Drill out whatever, rivet it back on, cover your hands in grease and s**t, and smear...
  26. Rob

    MX5 Number 2.

Can you not just swap the chassis numbers? I mean, it's more your old car than it is rack? Engine changes normally = dolla no? You've got some balls doing that kinda journey by public transport mate, sod that.
  27. Rob

    E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

LOL! They are STUPID, but as long as I can make them fit they'll go on. I'll be buying the rebuild kit for them, rebuilding them and then re-painting and brembo logo'ing them. I think Red, everyone disagrees, opinions? Black just seems boring.
  28. Rob

    MX5 Number 2.

Hmmm, I'd get that hub nut sorted too whilst it's at the welder then mate, get him to weld a nut to it or similar so you can wind it off. Why aren't you going to use the original plates? What did I miss? Just read right through, great work!
  29. Rob

    MX5 Number 2.

Awesome work mate, had a skim last night about to read through and catch up. You still got the hub nut issue or is that solved? If it really does persist, grind two sides dead flat then wang a nice big spanner on it.
