Not in the slightest, if you can resist the urge to plant your foot (believe me, it's genuinely difficult) then you'll not see a lot of difference.
My 1.2 was probably more frugal when it came to sitting in traffic, but the 2.0 for general driving was just as good and on the motorways...
Speaking from experience, no.
I went from a 1.2 8v Clio to a 2.0 16v variant and other than the first three months of driving, I didn't really notice spending a lot more £££ on petrol.
The z4 out performs the 200 too, by quite a margin.. so yeah, mk2 ph1 and you're laughing.
I was going to say I didn't know how much some companies would do, then I saw your post below.
I've also heard that some companies would only confirm to your lot that that the car was on the policy as modified or that it wasnt?
My first car was on my mums name, mainly because I was at uni, so...
Jesus mark! That's an awesome history. I really hope you just make this a proper tidy little car, keep good photos and just give me something awesome to read.
I wasn't coming to the lakes this year but now I want to!!!
Mark, first car you've owned that's made me die of jealousy. I really really want one. This one looks superb mate, mod the 998 as said, much character, and as you're a mechanic you'd be mad not to!

You must earn 1,000,000 dollas a year. I've never known anyone so indecisive!!!
I'm not really sure if I like that or not, it's.. ok. Interior looks very basic and the front end isn't anything to shout about though...
On the bright side, lovely colour and wheels, does it need a detail? Or has...
But it's true for me, what I enjoy about driving will be gone. I understand how you could still enjoy it on a track, seeing just how fast you could make it through an apex or round a sweeping bend, testing the limits of grip, but most of these things can't really be done on the road.
The sort...
The DSG is an option on the Polo though right?
It just seems insanity to me to develop a hot hatch and then limit the gearbox like that. The reason I damn it before driving it is because road driving just won't be fun any more. Sure, it'll still be great on track, you can make it feel alive...
So, we're comparing it to a supercar again?
I agree a paddle system can work brilliantly in a very fast car (largely due to necessity for a lot of drivers), but do you not think that in a "slow" car it's just not very exciting?
I wouldn't say there an "excessive" amount of hate in the...
