Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Removed the valves from the head today....some nice finds...
Decided to 'quick' fix this head with some used valves, also got the cambelt I took off this engine before I swapped heads, which is on around 20k. The head is now rebuilt (leak tested too, all good) and...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
im running a megane f7r bottom end, the pistons dont look dished to me, just valve recesses :S
not as far as i can see going to take the valves out of the head shortly
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
thing is......ive had enough of rebuilding this piece of s**t now tbh.
maybe i wouldnt be if it wasnt 3/4 times in the past two weeks, but its beginning to bore me....The local factors round here I guarantee will order the wrong inlets like last time, and its more...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
aye i know people have done it before, most of the problems associated with it have been ironed out-ish
I thinkso yeah, the cambelts got to have been rubbing on something to get that score mark i think....

Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Bit of an update.....Got the cam cover off...
Nice chewed up belt....pulled it out...
Had a quick look....
Bit of gravel, im guessing there definitely must be more down the bottom for this to happen :(
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Going to take the head off tomorrow, and look at the damage.
If none of the inlet valves are bent, its possible I could rebuild this easily, as i have a spare set of exhaust valves. Although, if any of the inlets are bent, I'm stuck....
If thats the case, I'm either...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
yeah, but its a backwards step, and it has problems in itself (why i did the williams head in the first place) it drinks fuel, etc.....
im going to take the engine out and sell the bottom end and head seperately i think, then go from there....the block is shite, and jynxed
