you've summed up the point of the video perfectly mate! :approve:
ive been on holiday for a week chilling out, and got very bored so went for a spin and wanted to try out my camera mount.
oh, and i completely agree with the ph-quick comment, they're far from fast. If you were a knowlegable...
right that gap has now been closed up, i put more effort onto pulling the engine forward and the rubber is now against the black plate at the back.
can i just check, whats the purpose of that black "guard"? is it just there as a kind of bump stop for the engine mount, i cant see that it...
yeah, you need to take the drivers side wheel and wheel arch liner off to get to it, but thats just a few pop rivets... nothing too bad.
best part of an hour, maybe a bit more if you're like me and want everything perfect! lol
FIXED!!
Finally, its sooo nice to drive my car without the noise! lol
it was the strut top mount, even though i had bought an entire new kit for it. Basically where you screw the strut top down onto the shocker under the bonnet, i put a little bit of grease on there, and also around the...
mine did this.
i replaced the whole inner and outer cable... it had corroded.
try and lubricate inside the new outer cable when you install the new one.
the rubber is the same thickness as the front rubber. should that gap where the arrow is be closed up, as i can try and move the mount further forward again?
let me just check, by forward you mean towards the front of the car? lol
i tried that... all that happened is that the black frame moved forward and the engine went back to it original location, so it wasnt in the middle of the mount any more.
take more care where you park.
dont park next to people carriers (they contain clumsy kids)
park next to expensive cars (porshes, mercs etc)
drive round the carpark several times to find the most suitable space
park on the ends of rows so that only 1 car can park next to you
wherever possible...
okie doke... had a quick look this morning and the drivers side and battery mounts seem fine.
its bloody hard to check the round rubber under undernieth this mount, as its weighed down by the engine, so how do you check it? the rest of it looks ok yeah?
Re: first glimps
i would have waited until i could have put the whole kit on...
but yeah, good effort a few little touches left to do but it looks good!
you on about the dogbone mount martin?
with the mount on the left, do i need to undo the big nut in the middle to adjust it, or just the ones on the outside of it?
ok, so something else wrong with my car now!
i need to check my engine mounts. The drivers side one looks brand new, still has the renault part sticker on it, so will probably just need adjusting. Is it just the 4 bolts that i undo to adjust it, or the big bolt in the middle too?
What about...
buy 2 get 1 free on rattle cans from halfords = £10.
everyone's got various grades of wet and dry at home (havent they?)
plastic primer, base coat and laquer.
airing cupboard to dry for a day in between each stage and your sorted!
standards all the way home, those pro race dont look as nice as i expected!
oh, and surely if you change the colour of the wheels this is a cosmetic modification so you still need to tell the insurance?
oh, and keep them silver!
you try keeping a 172bhp 2.0l lump of an engine still, inside a little clio's shell!... however my problem lies deeper, i believe the O/S mount is the cause of another problem im having now.
