Well I got a crash sensor from @midge this morning and fitted it straight away. No more airbag lights! I'm chuffed!
Now time to try and sort out that EML...
Well the engine management light has returned so i'm guessing that it was wrong that they were "both the same". Will put the old one back on post cat, and see if this makes any difference. Will the light go off if it can adjust itself or do I need to get it on diagnostics again?...
This is what i got, and i use it for uni stuff. Runs photoshop, solidworks, Keyshot, 3ds maxx etc fairly well so should be more than suitable! It's the best laptop for the money specs wise really! Well, it was when i bought one last year and not much has changed...
Only have access at my brothers work unfortunately but wont be able to go down again as he's really busy and i'm going back to uni tomorrow. I'll just put a wanted ad up for a crash sensor or try find a scrapper. For the price it'll be maybe worth changing anyway!
Another question, I tried...
Well i've removed the sensor, and cleaned up the pins which were a tiny bit green. Sprayed some wd40 in and reconnected, lights still on... There was water in the rear footwells as upon inspection yesterday we found loads of the bungs had pushed up into the car?! is this common? Seemed strange...
I unsoldered them all today and fully bypassed the grey connector on the driver side but all airbag lights on still. Got the car hooked up to a diagnostics and there were a fair few errors, (low ecu voltage, multiplexed etc). We cleared these and there was only one left which was a 180 short...
Got it on diagnostics and it was a lambda sensor. Removed them both and replaced with the new however the post and pre sensor which came off the cat were different. But the ones that were put on were the same...
Will this be an issue?
It's getting plugged in tomorrow but i wanted some lamda sensors just in case, can always send them back if this isn't the problem! Hopefully it is though as it just had a new cat as the old one split in two and this probably put some strain onto the sensors.
Are the sensors both the same post and precat on the clio 1.2? I have an engine management light I believe to be the cat sensors. Which do i need?
Thanks
Well i've been looking under my passenger seat and all of the connections from the grey plug have been soldered together bypassing it. Under the drivers seat some of the wires have been soldered, but there are still two going through a grey connector. Where's the issue most likely to lie? Shall...
I have literally just been looking at this myself. My clio didn't come with the top cover, but i've managed to source one off a breaker car. You may want to check that the wires have not chafed with all of the rattling as this can happen!
I've heard it can be tightened, but it's fiddly. There's...
I swear i searched and searched and never saw your thread about the clip! Thanks!
I will unclip that and reconnect it then have a look under the electrical tape tomorrow if the weather is good. Wouldn't surprise me if they have just been wrapped around each other. I had a quick glance under...
Was driving back from York to Huddersfield last monday and my airbag light and serv light decided to randomly turn on... I've looked under the passenger seat and I can't figure out how to disconnect the black plug to try and clean up the pins? There is no grey plug but there is electrical tape...
Well it's been fine in the 100 or so miles i've done with the new cat with the old sensors. There were quite a few errors cleared before and the car had been fine. Will I have any problems with running with an engine management light on? I'm sure it's nothing that serious. I'm still getting good...
The bottom right one on the dash. Hit 75 today on the motorway and my service and airbag light also decided to come on. Like Blackpool illuminations now...
I got back to uni okay tonight but did notice when I tried firing it up again later its revs jumped up and down and then it just died...
The car passed it's MOT this morning with no advisories. I went for a drive out shopping and on the way back the engine management light decided to come on... it recently had a new cat fitted as the old one literally split into two. The light had come on when the cat was broken on the flexi but...
Just replaced the front arms, track rod ends and arb bushes. The old bush on the nearside, which was fairly new looking by the lack of rust, just felt out on removal. My tracking is out which was expected, but there's also a quiet clunking/ knocking occasionally. Everything is all torqued up...
What sort of mpg should i be getting on a 1.2 5door mk2 clio? I recently had the cat changed as it had split on the flexi, so it's gone up from then but i'm still only getting around 40-42 and that on motorway miles. Is this normal? Is there anyway to make this better? I've seen some that were...
Well they told me the parts have a 12 month warranty, so i'll get it up on ramps every few months or so to check they're okay! Annoyingly the TRE's that were on the car were greasable ones but the PO just hadn't kept on top of it so they'd split.
