I've always found the comparison sites to be utter rubbish, when I was with an insurer the comparison thing came back & said that they won't touch me:( It was my current insurance company !

Re: Insurance. Fookers! Watch out for the ecxcess on it, it comes stacked anyway - so if you put in £300 voluntary it'll be a lot more than that. Add you ma/aunt to the policy too (if they have a clean licence)

Re: Insurance. Fookers! Performance Direct are local to me, i've always found them crap in the past. Their quotes are way over what anyone else wants, and they claim to be proper specialists. They may be a broker too, i'm not sure though. If it runs out soon, i'd leave them & get a quote...
