It should be the responsiblity of the purchaser to HPI it yeah, but tbh if your buying from a trader you would (well I would) have expected them to have done it already.
Now the seller knows he's got a recorded car, so unless he already knew it & paid rock bottom for it, he won't make much on...
Nice pics there Lee  The cars look pretty cool (the women are the same old same old lol;))
I quite like that black beetle :o The evo's & scooby's look ace too:approve:
- what engine is in that beetle ? Please tell me it's something worthwhile !
If the car has fsh & lots of bills etc it should in theory be fine. As well as the car, try to get a feel for the seller too, if the dude looks like he thrashes it hard everywhere - walk away. If he opens it up hard from cold just to impress you, walk away.
At the end of the day, as Brian says...
I brushed it on, I don't remember what stuff it was tbh. I did them about two years ago & tbh they still look nice.
Try the place I pm'd you, if not them a decent paint shop should be able to help you out mate.
When ever I see 172/182 owners around, I clock their car and they clock mine, then they turn their head away so fast it's a wonder how they don't snap their neck:S I don't even get to nod to them etc, miserable sods.
I do get a few liking my bodykit though lol.
Saw the back end of it driving down the road where is Fifteen place is just now (opposite Moorfield's eye hospital)
Quite rare to see RS clio's round here !
I'd go to a specialist imo. New brakes after a few months seems mad, unless you've tracked it or it's driven very hard everywhere.
Tbh though if you do need pads etc, you could probably give the brakes a shot yourself, they aren't overly hard to change at all really.
^ just what I was thinking.
Folk say that the front of the phase 1 172 looks ace over the phase 2 car, yet when it comes to a mk1 vee (with the same headlights as the phase 1 172) folk don't like them :S
I like my car a lot, so sod the haters.
Basically it comes down to how many of the cars are written off & stolen in your area etc, plus how much it'll cost to repair the car.
Some (including myself) have had some cracking quotes (well sub 1k) on some pretty expensive cars.
My old man his it in in his 172, he doesn't get that warning. Have you tried putting the disc in again ? He's got he 2007 disc iirc, but even with the old disc it never came up with that message.
