If've you've no problems with stock I'd keep with it nw pads are £40 or so and new disks £60 for the front. Then say £10 for new fluid (best bleed the setup whilsts your at it).
however if you want something uprated I'd go for the Yozasport ds2500s kit its £199 delivered with new disk, harder...
They sound the same realy there both quite quiet.
There loads of upgrade routes though prospeed make up the exhaust you want and are popular on here.
K-tec do an aftermakret 182 look alike exhaust which fits round the 172 wheel well.

I use 195/50/15s with no probalem I think there 1% different buy with tyre wear equaling more than 1% difference there won't be an issue.

The later 172's (53plate or so on) had crusie and ESP.
All the full fat 172's though have auto-on headlights, wipers half leather seat, climate zeons

You need to drive it hard to bed them in.

1 liter per 100Km's I thought from memory which is about 600 miles.
