you'll end up paying the price when you become independant... i have 4 years NCD now and cheap insurance at 22 because ive paid the price for the previous years.
in your scenario when your independant you'll have to drive around in a shitbox...
the Pro-Speed system WILL be better quality than the K-Tec...
its custom made to fit the car, you're in charge of how loud it is, how big it is etc...

probably looking at around £2k for your mum's insurance and you bolted onto the policy.
All depends on your mum's previous driving record though :)
removing the dash is very easy. no need to worry about the airbag if you do it properly, but you can disconnect the battery for 20 mins first to be safe :)
i can remove the dash in about 10 mins now... its just knowing where the screws are really.

i've just ordered exactly the same package through ... Brembo discs/Renault Pads. due to be fitted at the end of the week :)

Went on a mission today to get rid of ALL the rattles in my car.
After about an hour i had both front and rear door cards out, and was armed with cable ties and foam pads.
I tied up all the calbles that were left dangling to something solid, and the bits of shitty french plastic trim that...
you will see the 2 wires for each side going into the loom into the doors. To make things easier, you can unclip the wiring harness going into the doors. Just slide the retaining clip up, and the connector should come apart. makes things much easier.
careful which ones you cut though :)
