I loved my saxo when I had it but the clio is definitely a step up from it.
If Citroen hadn't released the vtr I doubt the same stigma would've been attached to saxos. It was aimed at young drivers and that coupled with the free insurance made them highly accessible to young hormonal dudes...
I think you're gonna be looking at 600 ish tbh mate. As far as I know the dephaser is £150 for the part alone, add the belt prices, oil etc etc and labour and 600 will be about right.
I bought a cup as it was the only 172 I hadn't owned. The lack of air con ain't a problem for me (cheaper cambelt prices!) and the seats although not leather / alcantara are still really comfy.
