I looked at buying one of there 52 plate 172 a while back for £10k they seemed cheap at the time.
Whatever you do dont buy there 2 * 182 they have for sale they were hammered all the time.
55mpg my adverage is after 36k.
Ive had as low as 37mpg on spirited driving andseen as high as 82 before I totally got bored.
I try never lft the car go lower than 1/2 tank though.
Shouldnt have any impact the allow will be 33 mm closer to the car so might scrap if they do just get some spacers to get them back to thwere they shoudl be.
This is assuming the wheels the same width and has the same circumferance.
It would be very difficult since the 172 has the huge weight of the 2.0 up front only way to get it done would be to make a Cup racer/ totally strip it out and then place weight at the back but your defeating the opject of ligtening the car then.
Its a combination of problem a powerful FWD car suffers but eh 172 knocks.
Tthe wheels struggle for grip and sort of jump a bit then grip then jump then grips. This means the engine shakes about since the wheels are one fraction of the second going forwards th next there stopped/slowed...
5th gear is a different bit of the box so there can be problems going into 5th.
Id say get it back to Renault as well though. Quite a few boxes have been fixed/replaced under warenty.
1.6 probably have different sized mounts.
The front springs on the more powerful models ie 1.4, 1.5dci and 1.6 seem to be uprated about 50kg in total strenght although the front wont weight that much more. The different front springs are probably less resistant to bending ie stronger.
Ok how much did you pay? Assuming you paid £10k ie 1k deposit.
Also wht deal are you on the one where you give the car back after 3 yrs?
You will have to probably pay about £1k to just walk away from the car now finacne might be able to add this to your next 182 in one way or another ie you...
Springs and shocks are supposed to work together not that it should matter hugly but still.
Id use what the kit provides, these supposed drop springs dont matter to be honest there based on original new facotory figures. Mine supposidly down 60mm and it no way that low maybe 40~50 but then...
Its a common problem its due to poor Renault wiring. Renault will fix it under warently its one of the wires which doesnt work (I think its the black one) and they just cut it out and solder in a replacment one.
Its a sensor on the brake pedal, give it to Renault and theyll fix it its a common problem. If they claim to not know if it then get them to update there technical notes as its there.
As I wrote earlier if you want airbags then firstly youll need a new one and youll need a new airbag computer (prices in earlier posts).
Might be worth getting it to somwhere who will do some geometry checks on the car it might be hidden damage which means youll have to go through the insurance.
