Well thats a pain, unless the MOT tester is very kind. I wonder if I wire up a rainlight on the cage to use as a fog.
Good news.
Just looking at this - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles
Will make for some interesting...
UPDATE:
So I am now back as a paid up member, there are whole area's of the forum that didn't exist last time I was a member......
As for the car, well I don't think I am any closer to sorting the lights, although I may have another phase1 board on the way.
I checked the earths and they were...
I have created a separate thread but what better place to post the below than in the PH1 appreciation thread.
By trade I am a Graphic Designer mainly in the automotive industry and 21ten is a new passion project for me to try and allow me more time with my son.
On Monday I am releasing 3...
UPDATE:
I have various niggles to sort on the car, one of which is the rear lights. I had previously spoken with @Coops Mk1about this and he suggested it might be the pins need tightening in the connector, however when trying this yesterday it made no difference.
I am thinking it may either be...
UPDATE:
A mini update again. I went out to work on the van today but my small worktop in the workshop was covered in half done jobs so I decided to clear that first as it was getting a bit frustrating. First up was fitting the new bulkhead heatshrink boot I bought about a month back - this time...
UPDATE:
Whilst not really getting time on the car (as I am working on the van) I felt I needed to do something with/for the car so I spent some money and ordered a steering wheel cover and also a Renault Sport Vinyl.
I made up a carbon numberplate at the same time I made up the brake deflectors...
So a bit of a shameless plug as some grandads on here don't do social media ;) so wouldn't of seen the below:
21ten is a bit of a passion project that utilises my everyday talents* but in less pressured way.
The idea for 21ten was to give me more time out home (pre Corona) to spend with my...
I must agree with @Coops Mk1 @1985michael182 imo the MK1 was a much better base, I loved mine (and was disappointed once I had owned the phase 1 for a while (I think I even mention that early on in this thread). Indeed was much less snappy and predictable, could play with the back end on it...
Pointless anyways imo, all that money and it doesn't gain you a massive amount of power over and above a cammed/ITB'd lump.
I know for sure I will never bother, I will just keep it external and if ever needed just bolt everything over to another engine.
Hhhhmmmm as I said, bloody hate electrics...
I genuinely think a lot of my problems were how old my stuff was, like the dash. Because it was 1st Gen it didn't have a 5v out.... proper pain.
I am pretty pleased with 830kgs but I could still get more out, the cage could be T45 and I am sure there...
Thank you for the kind words mate, much appreciated. You mention about patience - yet you only read from page 99, far more happened before that but it was along similar lines... for some reason I kept my foot in. To answer some of your comments below:
I don't have a fire extinguisher at the...
UPDATE:
Had a little bit of time today to get back out and check spacing on the rear wheels before I put in an order with Pure Motorsport.
Previously the car had 5mm each side on the rear but I was seeing if it could go out to 10mm each side.
On putting 10mm on I was surprised at how much more...
UPDATE:
With everything made up tonight and having riv-nutted the arches earlier in the week I fitted the deflectors and ducting this evening.
Pretty pleased with the result, I am also quite happy with how flexible it is, this should mean any big bumps and there is no further damage to anything...
UPDATE:
Well I think I would have hoped to be getting more down whilst we are on lockdown but I am spending way more time with my son which is cool and I have been converting the cab area of our sprinter camper which is fun in a sadistic way.... I love wires/electrics....
Onto clio jobs...
I was joking, mine is way to bloody long (but I guess it depends how long we are in lockdown for). 😜😂 it does have all the ups and downs though.
Agreed. I think facebook has kind of done the forums a favour. I think a lot of people have left or don’t bother with the forum anymore thinking fb...
Ha, now who’s the stalker @1985michael182 😜. Seems like we have all been on the same path on the builds. At the risk of sounding all CV-19 unity/community spirity I think it is worth sharing when you have a sh*tter because others can relate and help out.
Michael’s advice is for sure a good...
With a baby in bed and a wife asleep on the sofa I just done start to finish and left Michael with a million like notifications.
After seeing Michael comment a fair few times in @Chambers_RS thread I thought I needed to see what he was all about. Great attention to detail in the build. Good to...
Sorry chap, that was more of a general question rather than aimed directly at you.
They look pretty different now but they were my old Image Billet 95's that use to be on my phase 1. I am not sure I would have gone polished lips when I was racing but he is a painter/sprayer by trade so I think...
