Id say it's the crank sensor. When that's fubar then the engine will crank really quick for a few seconds but not fire. It's also known as the TDC sensor on here. It's above the gearbox right under the throttle body side of the engine. It can just need a clean but you might as well replace...

Mine has been doing this...AND the rear wiper will sometimes come on which I'm guessing is the reverse light trying to come on because of bad earth and having the wiper stalk in the auto setting.

Technically the cambelt wouldn't need to be touched but you run the risk of it popping off the crank, can't see why it would considering that's how it goes on but then again I'm no expert. Just be very gentle around that area and have fun putting the aux belt back on. Such an arse ache.

Further to this I've noticed that it actually stops charging when it hits 85%. It's pretty odd but I've still not tried it with the standard charger. Bit annoying really as I don't want to use a proper wall plug for it.
