UPDATE:
As i am waiting for my new knotted wire wheel to arrive i thought i may aswell get on with cleaning and painting some bits (got enough of them). So yesterday evening i gave the rear arm mounts, rear brake line mount and the front coilovers a good clean and paint. As I am not running abs...
UPDATE:
so before anything more was done on the car i needed to get my front hubs packaged up and sent away, before this they were masked and treated to a coat of black hammerite, then posted away for some goodies, no pictures prior, but here is a clue if you really need it
Next up was to...
Not that you need me to tell you/confirm but this is definitely a must, for this exact reason my alluminum airbox sheared, it was only mounted off the inlet and with the weight of it and the vibration from the engine the mounting face welds cracked pretty quick,
Well that took some time... reading the full thread (not the build, that seemed pretty quick compared to mine). Some lovely ideas and work in here mate, and fair play for not rushing a good thing. Messaged you with regards to shifter.

When you realise you...
WOULDN"T THINGS BE A LOT SIMPLER WITH MORE SPACE, TIME AND MONEY
(well i don't need more time), little bit more work done.
Started cleaning and refreshing the various stripped down parts (got endless boxes of these) but this will be a long burner...
But something i wanted to sort sooner...
Yep, part of that one.
Wasn't actually initially going to air on TV, was a web/cinema based ad, but became so popular it ran on TV too.
trying to research some others now, didn't want to miss any that might be out there.
Being a well educated bunch and also into your automobiles it would be good to hear anyones knowledge of good/great car adverts from say the past year, can be any car from a panda to a paganni (sp), can be english or foreign. Post them in here.
A tiny bit more sorted over the weekend and splitting down the front hub assembly and the bushes in the rear beam with help from Beaniesport.
Pretty easy really, means this can all be refreshed over the coming months. This will then be teamed with the Roll centre kit from Northloop and some...
Nice progress @Dan@SJM makes my progress look like its going backwards.
Should be a pretty interesting motor once done, is the slam panel cut (looks like the intercooler interrupts it)
UPDATE:
So managed to get a little more time on it over the weekend, main aim was to get the front suspension/top mounts off. After soaking them for 24+ hours in WD40 and using this adjustable C-spanner it was apparent that they weren't budging, instead they were just damaging the softer...
it wasn't on the cards several months ago, but now its in the garage, and most money next year will go towards a wedding its not going to be complete in 2016, so time isn't an issue, and it will only cost me my time, some paint/underseal and sone elbow grease
Sorry chap, not sure if i was being dim. ha. Turns out it was still an absolute ballache.
I looked at doing as you said but this didn't really make much difference, i must have tried for another 30mins after it had been soaking all night, but to no avail. I decided to remove the passenger hub...
UPDATE:
More work today, and the car is going backwards to go forwards. After removing the front subframe last week, this week it was the turn of the rear arm. Just prior to removing that though the front subframe was cleaned up and stored back away.
The whiteline first up had to be removed...
oh, and it appears that Custom cages have not gone into liquidation, i best look into that soon just incase they do disappear, can i put a cage on the wedding gift list?
UPDATE:
So @Gray kindly reminded me today that 4 years ago to this very day we removed the engine from the car... a good anniversary with no clear date when it may be going back in, ha. However i have had this week off work, and have a couple days next week also, between house DIY jobs...
ah man, how many times have i been in this position...
Having literally just come out the other side of this situation i am so glad i kept it. It has been a long time coming, I have owned the car since 2008 and its been off the road longer than it has on (in my ownership), its been moved around...
I already have strength plates in the front, and small boxes in the back fabricated by Caged Laser Engineering, but that can obviously be lost/re-used.
Think i will 100% be going for one of these though. unless a local fabricator can replicate it for a little less $$$$
