UPDATE:
I have had to order some parts, 1 of these being the new aux belt... 1 for new and 1 for spare.
I need/want to order a few more parts also, but just need to check prices, a couple of bits of interest are the PMS strut brace and the PMS shifter kit...
I also need to order a firewall...
UPDATE:
Again it doesn't really feel like lots has been achieved but everything seems to take longer than you originally think. I am also not going to rush it for no reason...
As previously mentioned the interior loom was to be run, this has to be tied in with fitting of the carbon floors...
Nice work...
Looks like you had the same issue as I did with the doors and the windows. I am guessing where you trimmed back your doors you didn't need to re-seal them? I did... I must have trimmed a lot more...
I am also doing my look currently, just about to update now.
UPDATE:
We now have an agreed date to collect the van being the start of next month - very excited about that.
As for the car, progress is still very slow - time is still very short and I am having to make do with doing little jobs as and when I can (mainly evenings). This update must cover a...
Its not military, but close - ex police riot van in its previous life.
It was a friends, fully kitted out and self reliant. I will post more pictures up in future but reluctant whilst it is still with the current owners
Hi mate, Just looking at these bolts again and can't figure out what you mean. Looking at the bolt it looks normal and I can't see why changing this out wouldn't make a difference. Can you explain further before I order something and regret it.. ha
FYI
Turns out the Calliper - calliper bracket bolts are way too long. These are noted on the sheet at 100mm
But these are probably by 20mm to long. I am going to need to re-order these now.
UPDATE:
With the focus to have as much/many of the interior items in as possible so I can work out the fuel and brake line routings I set about looking into those bits, For some of this to go back in though it needed some coats of paint. It is a little frustrating because it doesn't seem like...
UPDATE:
It has been increasingly hard to get work done on the car recently, but progress has been made and albeit slow... progress is progress. I have had to settle for completing little jobs so I can easily dip in and out, all the jobs need doing though so if it doesn't matter on the order...
UPDATE:
Progress has been very slow. As previously mentioned there is an illness in the family and basically it completely f*cking sucks. It is escalating super quick and is just such a sad scenario. This is pretty much my whole focus at the moment and making sure I maintain the support that is...
Having done a bit of thinking I won't be going with spacers, I don't want to cause any potential for movement. I am just going to source new bolts for the inner 2 bolts on both sides, these will have to be 100mm.
Exactly this, after speaking with my neighbour, he said: They are heat treated after they have thread cut into them so are not very easy to cut new thread into, you will just end up making a mess or f*ck the die. I will be looking into new bolts for the inner 2 bolts on both sides. these will...
This was my thought I must admit about the movement, hence why I haven't ordered the spacers yet. I will look to see if I can get the thread cut higher first (neighbour is an engineer), then maybe look at longer threaded bolts before buying the spacers.
Cap head head bolts so will need 2...
As thought, this was an issue. I need to space the 2 inner (on both sides) rear beam mount bolts upwards at least 15mm to be showing only thread. (see pic below)
This will probably be done with stainless spacers like @scotiamr2t suggested above, the 19mm versions should be spot on, annoying...
UPDATE:
So I planned to mount the rear beam up, however I anticipated an issue. Having looked at the rear beam mount bolts it looked like there wasn't enough thread to them and the clean part of the bolt sat to low. This was ok when on @Tomotek's car as he had the cage pick up point, but as mine...
UPDATED (continued):
The fuel line will only have a bulkhead fitting at the bulkhead, and then at the rear will pass through a grommet in the fuel pump cover. I picked up the fuel pump cover from James (BigAsh) and then found the grommet in my spares. Perfect.
The priority for the next...
UPDATE:
With the shell ready, everything else needs to come together now to start bolt back on. One of the main priorities for this being the engine (obviously). Although looked after and visually tarted up the engine needed a service prior to going back into the car. In a previous post I had...
