i take it you were bored in the airport when you replied? funny you should make that comment though mate,
I spent all last night at the pub with Beaniemoo (white F4R valver), we had a good long chat about all the options, we pretty much confirmed what yourself and bomber have said, my life is...
I currently have very little time (with my current lifestyle), and with the nature of the value of the parts and the fact i have had so many issues with so many couriers/postal services i would prefer to get things collected or meet people between my 2 current residences.
I would never sell up...
i am still so up in the air with what to do mate, my current living/working situation really isn't helping in general or with the decision tbh...
the options are pretty much:
1) finish car (without selling bits)
2) sell all and buy something else (fun/for everyday, possibly keep seats/harnesses)
His is standard apart from a 35mm drop on Buddy-club's, we done A, B-roads, motorways and town driving, it was a little bumpy in places but certainly not that un-comfortable. But as you say, it lacks something, he is looking at putting some recaro's in it and tweaking a few other bits, but...
tbh i am not sure how that has happened, imo this project thread has kind of dwindled into a load of waffle, plenty of awesome projects on here, obviously the people of CS have to much time on there hands
the thing is, i don't think i have lost the love, i still want to create it and...

i don't think i would ever build another project, i won't ever have the funds again, and...
hmmm.... keep in-touch.
as for a link for you pooh, i have one somewhere, i just need to find it,
funny you mention the S2000, i am not going to compare it at all, but i spent all of yesterday in an S2K GT, my mate (who owns it) constantly was commenting how well it does as an everyday car...
if that the way i go, i want something i'd enjoy, i loved my valver.... thats why i thought about it, i thought if it was almost there i could move across anything from the 172 and then sell/bank the rest, thinking about what else is about not much appeals to me.... i wouldn't want another...
i wanted a fast road/track car, something that i can take out on the road to play with but also take to the track, (which, if our life plan finally works out could be a fair bit with silverstone, rockingham and bedford on the doorstep.)
cheers for the kind words and offer mate. Maybe 2 options...
so last weekend i sat down with Microsoft Excel, a demon tweeks catalogue and cliosport open in a window and set about working out potentially i could get back if i now break and sell everything. I calculated mostly larger things and think i have been pretty generous (to the buyer) on parts...
indeed it was, a long long time ago....lol
i see they have moved the rear mounts on the strut tops now though...
could you pm me the cost of your cage mate, i am doing some sums
its alright, i was only yoshing too, as said for me an Elise is just not an Exige... a compromise in a way, and the fact they are just not that quick is a bit of a factor too
was also thinking this last night...
i'm glad you said it.....
to me also the elise is always a compromise.... to an exige....
i've done a couple of laps of the "ring" in an early exige and even that was dispassionately slow, my clio was easily quicker... don't get me wrong, it bloody stuck though...
i have been toying with the...
Yeah pretty cheesed off about that, especially as i am so organised... Since purchasing it the car has moved location once and us (house) twice, hopefully it is at my mates bodyshop and he hasn't chucked or sold it ffs
so i spent all of yesterday going through all of the clio parts, sorting and arranging all the parts into relevant boxes, labeling everything so its easy to find,
I am still unsure what is happening with the car but sorting everything in that way should help when it comes to a re-build or sell...
