Yeah the paint down the trumpet method, I've Paintanted that method ;)
When I did Marks airbox for his race car I ended up just using a pencil and it worked just as well. Just have to measure it lots of times before cutting!
As in what am I doing to the car?
Filling it with fuel and driving it!
Just going to tidy the car up really, a few very little things but nothing big at all. Once I've used up my 8 trackdays that I've got fro a group buy ages ago and gone to the ring for a few laps I'll be selling the car!
Hello everyone,
Not updated this in quite a while! I'm affraid there have been no car updates apart from the car growing more green stuff!
But progress has been made. I bought myself a VW Passat Estate to tow the Clio and I now have access to a trailer when ever I need it.
I have also just...
Hehe, its been a pleasure to build the car, and it was a great feeling to actually drive it. Put quite a lot of time and effort into the car and it all good because it does handly very well indeed.
So thanks once again Mark for letting me drive it :)
Well done mate, just saw the video on Facebook so thought I'd check out your update on here.
Great feeling when they fire up after lots of effort!
Real shame about the suspension can you not use spacers to stop the wheels touching the shocks?
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
All that hard work has really paid off. Looks brilliant!
Perhaps some wheel spacers would make the stance a little better?!
From my own personal experience second hand wiring looms can be a bit temperamental. 99% of the problems I have had with my ITB's have been to do with my loom been somewhat nackered!
Renault loom was a bit of a mess but it was mainly my fault. So for me it was easier to
Remove every last wire...
Big shame about the compression!
New filter looks good, at least that's one less thing to worry about now :)
I bet you'll be cracking out the champaign when the engine is finally fixed and healthy!
Fingers crossed :)
To the OP, it's probably easier to buy a new lambda sensor from OMEX to fit the plug which is on the loom.
You need to splice the standard loom into the crank sensor wires to work the speedo or revcounter (can't remember)
With the MOT thing, I just blanked off the lights that came on!
Good...
I removed my ABS from my 182 track car.
I used a 4port master cylinder, brake servo and rear brake proportion valve all from a 172cup.
I removed all brake lines from my car and made new ones.
That should then give you the extra braking confidence you are after.
I can't quite remember but I took a picture of one of my OZ F1's with a r888 and put it in my project thread. They weigh loads tho! But they are cheap compared to Ultraleggers which is why morst people race with them!
Just shows that the MIGHTY TDF are not so brilliant! Waiting weeks for new parts or receiving work which isn't up to scratch! Do a job right first time! Saves money and time! If your too busy then don't do the work!
There's tonnes of space in the Clio engine bay once you get rid of all the rubbish. So just depends on where the engine mounts are located on the K20a. I recon it could be done.
As Fred said the push on air filters are rubbish, restrictive and seem to just disintegrate quite a lot.
I have 45mm Jenveys with 90mm trumpets and a proper backing plate and filter and I have a very responsive and nice car/engine to drive.
Do a bit of research into that kit as I have heard...
Nice one Jord, so as you've moved the peddle box i assume your going to be brinnging the seating position and steering wheel position over too so it's all straight and inline?
