Are brembos Group - N discs their version of standard stuff? I.E not the High Carbon jobbies! I'm sure i had heard that quite a while ago. Your pads may eat through those discs! Maybe a phone call to brembo may be your best bet!
Haha I was playing with action man and toy cars 12 years ago! So you win!
Let me know if you get corner weighting scales in the next 6months and you can do my car :)
It's not cheap, cost roughly £150 to change to that fuel rail.
Fuel rail was £50 and I bought it through OMEX technologies. Need brackets too which are £30 for 2.
Thanks guys,
The car is basically going to be unused for another whole winter and will be used next summer now. I'll update this thread when I do something with it!
Keep it going for another year, that's what I'm doing now so I'll hopefully be ready to do my 8 trackdays next year!
Also means we can do some trackdays together like newbees as I wont have driven my Clio for 18months lol
So Tony for a 90min race we'd fill it 65 ltrs to start and then do a splash and dash and just fuel it for the remaining laps so 25ltrs (ish)
Or put 45 ltrs in to start and then refuel and add another 45ltrs?
What do you think would be better for tyre wear & lap times and pit stop times?
In a...
Hmmm well in that case it theres not much of a benefit of carrying a 100ltr in the car because of the added higher weight and higher centre if gravity. So you might as well start the race with 65Ltrs and when you come in then fill it with 50ltrs.
We just need to know how much fuel your car...
Wow 170 ltr, suppose the Dakar rally cars probably use one of those.
100ltr sounds like a more realistic and appropriate tank for what you need. Do you know how big the other Brit car fuel tanks are? Is 100ltr a standard size?
It's obviously harder but feels much more direct and once your above 15mph the steering isn't too hard. I've only driven it a very short distance tho!
Can't get it off my drive ATM, money is a little tight so first trackday may be early next year.
I'm remaking the splitter with marin ply...
Will the cage have the X bracing behind the drivers seat?
I found it difficult to find a decent seating position for Icemans Brit car race car because we had to literally have the seat on the floor so we could get it as far back as poss because the seat kept fouling the X brace.
Looks great so...
That would keep the centre of gravity down keeping it in the Same place.
65L means you'll still need to refuel for the race in Nov.
Mark how many ltrs is the ATL Saver cell?
If your tall make sure you can get your seat nice and low and far back. Some cages mean you can't get the seat back as much as you might like. The custom cages cage is a bit of a pickle.
Well I used to set up the supension up on the race cars so I'm sure they didn't mind me doing it on my car ;)
Really good equipment but rather expensive!
Yeah that was because I hadn't washed my car in ages and the pads had foooked the wheels.
Regular washing of the car is fine tho.
I bought my CL RC5 pads years ago for £90 posted from Kam racing. And they have done me very well, not fallen apart, not really lost much pad but I have used 3 sets...
I set my suspension up the proper way years ago
Needs doing again really as the car is much lighter.
But if you want your car to handle well then you have to set up the coilover heights with where the weight is been placed.
The problem your having is crossing the line from road car to race car. To go to the next stage of braking performance means you'll need to use a pad which could be a bit harsh to your paintwork & wheels.
I ran the older CL RC5's race pads on the road and had no problem in the summer when I was...
