Yeah the FIA padding our our Mini Challenge race car is rock hard.
I will send Tony a PM now to see where you got yours from.
Also the FIA padding is really really expensive :S
Its an OMP full weld in 9 or 11 point cage.
It follows the A-piller and goes through the dash and has door bars. Its a gooden ;)
Right so you think the FIA stuff isnt really needed :)
Roll Cage Padding...Talk to me!
What padding do you use on your cages?
Any of this stuff ok? http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=roll+cage+padding&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Do you just put it on the parts your head could hit or on the parts all your body could...
Yeah i'll maybe come next year :)
My engine bay is quite tidy now so i wouldnt mind showing it to people. I've still got my Volvic water bottle catch tank
Sweet. I likw the silver head lights, i might get mine sprayed like that instead of the colour i have on mine.
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Yeah i know but i'll be selling my seats in a few months and getting some wrap around ones so they protect my head from the cage. When i get them then i will weld the new frames to the car
Sweet updates, what cage did you get? I cant think of any omp cages which have 10 mounting points but can still be bolted in.
I like the wheels but not sure on the colour, personally a dark grey or black would have been a bit nicer imo.
Car still looks wicked.
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
UPDATE.
Small update really, Mainly just tidying bits up so i dont have to do them when the cage is in.
So as i had removed the rest of the tar the other day i cleaned all the glue off
Befor
After
And the other side
And cleared it off the roof...
To be honest its a little bit of a ball ache. You just have to look all over the place for the little screws holding the dash on. and dont forget to remove your wheel (can leave the boss on) and remove the indicator and window wiper stalks.
Also you have to be a bit aggressive when pulling it...
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
No we were gona go on thursday but my flat mates are gay so we never went. My car still has half a tank in too :( I did go for a drive yesterday and burnt off 1/4 of a tank but i might as well weigh it when its on the fumes lol
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Yeah and then say 2kg of paint for the interiour and cage. Should look wicked when its all in. I was going to get in put in today but there has been a change of plan so probs getting it put in on Monday or Wednesday now
Right i'm not really sure if anyone can do this but i'd like to see if someone could photoshop my cam cover, cambelt cover/engine mount and the bit behind it all in black, grey & silver.
If possiable, if it can be done then could someone PS my jenvey inlet mani in bright orange too.
Thanks :)
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Yeah thankfully a combination of a great company and a simple fault meant i am keeping my car lol
Haha, yeah i've only got it for when I drive to the Nurburgring, when i get back i'll poly window it and chop the inner door skins off.
I'm hopeing to get it...
You know you said you took the buckets out because the of the Ring Rules. Well people on other forums have been to the ring this year with out of date buckets and out of date harnesses and they didnt even get looked at.
So if you took is out because of that then bash the seat back in :)
Car...
Car was £5,500 2 years ago
I've spent just over £6000 on modification in 2 years, + all the g*y stuff you have to buy like insurance, Tax & Mot's
Worth every penny and she's gona be a keeper :)
