As most people are saying, decent pads (Ferodo ds25000's), Decent discs (brembo Max or HC's) and braided hoses (goodridge) is a good combination for just fast road driving and going to work.
Tyres will make a massive difference too. Exaltos are really the best of the best but you allready...
Charged clios are pretty fast.
I went in Bens (old) white SC 172 and it was pretty quick and very comfortable.
But you could strip everything out and ITB it and its just about as fast.
My ITB's 182 is about as fast as bens charged 172.
Oh and people seem to go through gearboxes quite a...
Yeah i pulled the realy out and it was quite dirty and a little corroded so i gave it a little clean and poped it back in. I may take the 2 fuses and realy out again and make sure they have a really really good connection.
Oh i didnt know you could take the white/yellow cover off. I'll have...
Right, cutting a long story short, i have a bad connection in the end of the omex loom which goes into the ECU. I recon its because the AA man a while ago just pulled the connector off the ecu by pulling on the wires and not pulling the clip :S.
I had my car running and by moving the wires...
you can work out the spring rate on the springs ou have,
Its somthing like the diameter of the wire x the number of full coils. something like that. have a look on google and it will tell ya :)
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
Well done mate, good its all up and running, Its a good feeling to eventually fix an annoying problem :)
I do like this car. Dont get Turnis tho, They are soooooooooooooo gay. everyone has them.
2118's suit the car much better and they look great, they are getting quite popular too tho :(
I'll have a look :)
Interiour
Current Doors
Engine
I've got it that light because of taking out practly every little bracket and bits and bobs out that are not needed for the car to function properly.
Still got loads to come out :)
Yeah it is true that improving your driving will mean you have more fun/be faster on track.
But the way i have seen it is if your stripping stuff out of a clio then do it properly which is why my 182 is 920kg not the lightest clio in the world i know. But i still have to remove the AC pump...
Hi,
Just bringing up an old thread.
I've had a good read and i have one question.
Will i be able to remove the AC and PAS and just still use the standard rack? Just fill the rack and gear thing full of grease.
I'm not too bothered about how heavy the car is to park as the car is my track...
Souldnt really have anymore bit issues now (touch wood) , you seem to have fixed all the bit parts which go on the Clio Sports so i'd try not to worry about it now.
I was one of the biggest "loosers" of the day i only got 173.8bhp when i should have been around 200bhp.
Arr well, bit of a pain in the ar** but i think its just the wiring doing into the Omex so i've had a look and it does seem a bit loose. So i'll sort that and put it back in teh car and...
Mine had a few issues, I broke down on the M62 :( but after a bit of fiddeling i got it running again and made it home. I have the Omex Loom in my room and i'm sorting it out :) So she'll be back up and running in no time :)
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Your car is really smart, i love it.
As said above the CL pads are just for men really ;) your nice cup would be more suited to Ferodo DS2500's.
They will give you more than enough braking performance.
Your none starting problem deffo sounds like the TDC sensor :)
FTW, far too much reading in that link lol.
But yeah i want to hear what my ITB's sound like. Just make sure it doesnt get sucked into the trumpets as i'll be running without a filter.
Fingers Crossed
