See this all the time and its always a shame. Breaking it will see your parts go to other people's projects, plus get more cash towards your business. What I'd be tempted to do, is sell off bits to get money back and put car back to standard and get some use out of it.
Good call @marinemackay2003 I have a shopping list for RPD and new flywheel bolts are on it, just never knew they come with thread lock. Thanks for the heads up
Didn't hang about getting them on, looks loads better, actually makes me wonder if I've done the rite thing lol.
The blast out did scare me a little tbh!!! The thing is mental, never been in a Clio that still forces you back in your seat in 4th.
Bet its nice having tread again
Absolutely loved reading this thread, nice way to spend Sunday morning in bed.
I remember your old 182, made me want a Jon Ashley exhaust and pop and bang rs turner. Your 172 really shows how nice these cars are as a standard unit. Don't know if its just me but still think theses cars stand out...
Haha I don't think many folk drive like Ste, have to keep telling him of for drifting his mx5 every where lol.
Your laps look fast and smooth, normally the fastest way. Saying that arranging a night for karting soon, you should come.
Your future plans sound awesome, look forward to seeing you...
As above, best looking car in a realistic price range, with yours being in the best colour. I have two mate that have got one, one blur other white, parked next to each other white one stands out loads
Just read your whole thread mate, really impressed with what you've done to it. Imo all the rite things! Would love a ride out in it time I see you as I thought my brothers was fast as standard. Keep up the good work.
What are the plans after the wedding?
Cheers mate, I think the problem is that it had a new engine fitted by renault at 70k and folk have seen this and thought they could leave it. Plus I have ocd when it comes to things like this, if I could afford to I would of liked to strip it rite down to bare block and rebuild it. I'll just...
Cheers guys
@rsdan your fiesta looks a good base, looks solid too. Always stayed away from mk1 due to panels being silly money. I restored a mk2 xr2, did a rs2000 xr2, had a 2 rs2000. Always loved Ford's but think they are over valued now. Xr3 yours as well?
If your having same issues with a new starter, then its not the starter. If it won't start only when the cars ran (hot) then its heat soak.
It's simple, there is something stoping your starter from engaging. Earth or immobiliser is my bet. Who fitted starter motor
